I would very much like to hear from people in the UK who are regularly on the streets trying to win souls to Christ.

The Easter weekend allowed us great opportunities to preach to numerous people. (New video clips online to view.)

Please pray for us and those we seek to reach, for 150,000 people die EVERYDAY, that's 7,000 an hour, with MOST going to Hell.

Timely Word 4 Today:-

Preach The Gospel!

I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.

Philemon 1:6,7 NIV

________________

Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 1:8,9 NASB

________________

Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

1 Corinthians 9:26,27 NIV

________________

Thanks be unto God for His wonderful gift:
Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God
is the object of our faith; the only faith that
saves is faith in Him.

Weekly Meditation 7/15 - 7/21 - I Repent CEV

"No One Can Oppose You"

Job said:

No one can oppose you,
because you have the power
to do what you want.

You asked why I talk so much
when I know so little.
I have talked about things
that are far beyond
my understanding.

You told me to listen
and answer your questions.
I heard about you from others;
now I have seen you
with my own eyes.

Job 42:1-5 CEV

Amen to that. Wanted to share with those interested some more of our street outreach in the UK:

Patrick and James arrived in a wet and cool Manchester this morning. Both prayed and then split up to distribute as many Gospel tracts as they could, all along trying to avoid the heavy downpours.

It wasn't long before James noticed a lone Jehovah Witness (this is rather unusual) trying to engage people in conversation. Normally the JW's avoid him like the plague, but this individual - clearly not briefed by the local Kingdom Hall - walked over to James and said: "What is that you are giving out?" "A Gospel tract, " James replied. (When dealing with the cults it is paramount that one gets in there first and not to allow them to dictate the pace and direction of the witness encounter. On this occasion James knew he was coming over so he wasn't caught off guard.) "Some people think that Salvation is only found in organised religion and its not. It's only found in Jesus Christ, " James said. "Are you born again?" James asked him. "No, I am a Jehovah's Witness." "Why are you disobeying the commandment to be born again?" James asked? No satisfactory answer was offered. For the next 15 mins or so James proved from the New World Translation (his own Bible) the deity of Christ, the Trinity and eternal security. By now he was white as a ghost. Patrick walked over and tried to witness to the Witness too, but he wasn't having any of it. He said: "I came to convert you......" James said: "You may be sincere but you are very wrong." James also made a strong and definitive case for the concept of eternal and conscious Hell. This JW didn't like this at all and when the Trinity got mentioned again, he practically ran away! Patrick tried one last time in vain to make him see the folly of following men, i.e., the Pope or Don Adams (current leader of the Watchtower cult) but he was shaken to his foundation and desperately wanted to escape from so much Bible and Truth he was now receiving. "I have my truth," he said trying hard to convince himself more than us. And with that he was off but James got one last word in: "We are now not guilty of your blood. You've heard the Gospel and now its down to you." Strong words some might think, but the Apostle Paul used the same term on more than one occasion, when dealing with those that would either reject the gospel, blaspheme God, or seek to preach a false gospel.

Our associates John and Miguel, along with Miguel's mother, came over and said hello. (A Muslim threatened to stab Miguel last week while he was preaching, so he reported it to the police. Please pray for him and his family during this period.)

Next up and Jay and Hannah (a sweet and homeless "couple" without unusually a mongrel dog) came over and shared their life story with all of us: a sad and yet very familiar account, especially for two people, so young: Hannah is 23 and Jay is 35. Both were drunk and Jay was puffing away on his cigarette. As Jay offered his philosophy on religion and his own Church of England background, James asked if he believed the Bible (Jay had told them how he had read the Bible 10 times.) "You must be born again," James told them. "You need to repent and turn away from your sins." Jay shock his head as if in agreement. Hannah stood there with very little to say. James asked her how long she'd been on the street. "Four years," she replied. "Do you keep in contact with your parents?" he asked "No, they don't want to keep in contact with me." Jay interrupted by telling them that she had suffered a nervous breakdown. This was quite clear for those standing around to see. After about 15 mins they started to pull away, but not before James gave them some money for food. Touched by this Hannah gave James an unexpected cuddle! Both seemed under some spiritual conviction and both were thankful for the time given to them to hear the gospel and receive some genuine love and affection. James told Jay to get his hand looked at (it was badly cut) and tried to encourage Hannah to seek medical help for her drinking. They said they would and off they went.

Patrick and James said goodbye to John, his wife and Miguel and continued giving out their tracts.

Captain Andy, retired Naval man and also down on his luck, chatted with James and both got on quite well. (James has long had an interest in military history.) "Religion," James told Andy, "cannot save you." He took James' Soldier Outside the Palace tract, thanked him and off he went.

Just as James and Patrick were packing up a rather disgruntled Roman Catholic told James off for his tract. "I am deeply offended by this tract," she said. "Why," asked James? "Because I am a convert to Catholicism." James told her how his family had produced several priests and how they were no doubt more Catholic than she was. James told her to look in her 1994 catechism, which says those that don't believe in Jesus may be saved. She tried to correct this but the facts are against her. Please see following article:

http://www.excatholicsforchrist.com/art ... Heaven.htm

By this stage it was raining again and their train was due so they packed up, but not before James recorded a very short segment on the latest Harry Potter mania, currently gripping the UK. Incidentally upon arriving in Manchester, Patrick and James noticed two young teenage Muslim girls deeply engrossed in two books. One was Harry Potter and the another was on Vampires! And they were both wearing expensive Calvin Klein head coverings, while their elderly father just looked on. And on the train home two more young teenage girls were glued sadly to the same Potter book. Indeed even our tea and coffee man, where we get refreshments in the town centre, was told off by Patrick for reading it. He should know better!

Great to hear about street witness in Manchester

As in most parts of the world, neighbouring cities are often bitter rivals, but in cHRIST - AS IN Acts 1:8 - WE NOT ONLY WITNESS IN OUR (jERUSALEM) HOMETOWN, BUT IN OUR (jUDEA) region & even in our (Samaria) enemy territory, as well as worldwide

I thought I'd already said on this thread that I just made contact with a regular team of street preachers who meet each Tues & Thurs @ 11am at Gladstones cafe/Christian Bookshop, Slater St - the 2nd right off Bold St, which is at the left side exit from Liverpool Central Station

Ah: here's the interesting parallel thread:-

To the Streets!

viewtopic.php?t=22619

After prayer, praise & breaking bread together, we go to St Johns Precinct @ 12.00, do @ 45 mins, then go outside McDonalds, corner Church St/Paradise St for @ 45 mins

Today, as a one-off, one of Gladstones staff, who is an excellent guitarist (as well as bassist/drummer in Frontline Wavertree worship band), led us in joyful praise between messages/testimonies

Other Christians came over to sing with us or to give out gospel tracts & several folk stopped to dance-alonga the praise &/or chat

Many more accepted tracts on their way to work/shops etc

Mancunian prayers much valued for Liverpool too

Praise God for http://www.VisitSpace.com so regularly arranging 4/5-band tours that bless the youth of both great NW cities!

We head back to Gladstones @ 2-ish for tea, toast & fellowship till @ 3pm

The team leader, Laurie, who's done it in all weathers for 15 years, had great anointing on him today when he cordially closed by inviting folk to come & chat to us/ask questions/get things off their chests/request prayer etc

Laurie said today that he was street preaching/tracting @ Manchester Piccadilly a few days ago

In good weather, I like to get the Arriva NW & Wales weekly ticket - a great bargain at £14, as you can go up as far as Scots Borders, down as far as Birmingham & all over Wales every day, if desired - I do commend it to others

I'll be regularly at Southport, Chester, Wigan, Preston, Ormskirk & Skelmersdale, DV - as well as 'extending territory' into Warrington, Widnes & Runcorn & revisiting Prestatyn, Rhyl, Mold, Ruthin, Denbigh, Colwyn Bay & Llandudno, DV

AH: YFriday play Chester Cathedral, Sat @ 7.30, £5

Pray it's good weather, as I preached in Liverpool yesterday about the Almighty Creator, reminding folk of my challenges on BBC Radio Merseyside & Radio City to any evolutionist to come to http://www.chesterzoo.org & point out any of the millions of missing links

DV I'll be at the car park ther at 12.00 on Sat playing worship CDs - as at the picnic area when we go in - till @ 1pm to allow time for latecomers to find us & the more folk turn up, the better party discount, yes?

Both last summer & in Jan '06, no evolutionist came to challenge

Last time, I rode the overhead cable car holding creationist textbooks to window both sieds & in God's perfect timing. the loo block was empty so I held the door open & used it as an amplifer to preach creation unchallenged - as at Bache station & the adjoining supermarket car park superb acoustics

Try it at your local zoos/beauty spots

Many helpful threads are linked from this lyric:-

All The Wonders Of The Universe

viewtopic.php?t=18462

Thanks for your prayers, guys, & be assured that we have a heart to pray fro God's Word going forth in power in the cities & towns etc, not only all over UK but globally

In prisons & barracks etc too, as they are such fruitful mission fields

God bless!

Thanks for your prayers: while Thur, Fri & Sun are forecast wet, Sat is forecast dry, so I'll repeat the http://www.ChesterZoo.org challenge in both sessions today & say that I'll ring Radio Merseyside Friday lunchtime phone-in @ that great fun day out - inc the 7.30 YFriday Chester Cathedral gig, asking them - & you to email Roger Philips @ http://www.bbc.co.uk/liverpool echoing the call for as many folk as possible to bring a pack lunch & see what group discount we can negotiate!

Tell ya what: if you've only ever been to a zoo in hot sunshine, the animals tend to lie around doing nothing, yes?

If it's only warm, with a cool breeze, they'll be playing around & give ya much better photos!

So let's encourage folk to look at the animals, birds, fish & insects with new eyes, letting faith arise & grow as we see the wondrous wisdom of the Most Brilliant Brain in the universe, marvelling at His intricacies of design & thoughtfulness, as we realise that each & every kind of life was Designer-made for its purpose & environment!

Meanwhile, do continue praying that God will over-rule the TV forecast for today here, so that the maximum number of people will hear the open air outreach, 12-2pm & be in the best mood to open their hearts to their Creator, Saviour & Lord!

God bless!

Ian

The punchline was that the Bible says we are far more valuable to God that any animal, or the birds of the air, or the lilies of the field, as Jesus put it, so do use the good weather this week to go to your nearest zoo & see solid evidence that God loves you, as so many hate themselves & feel unloved by anybody, yes?

& pray God sends forth more labourers to reap the endtime harvest of souls in pedestrian precincts & beauty spots - they say from mid August will be a heatwave

Tues is forecast as the best day of this week, so do pray more Christians feel the call to meet @ Gladstones, 11am & witness 12-2pm

How @ your area?

God bless!

Timely Word 4 Today:-

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now is the Day of Salvation

We then, as workers together with Him also plead
with you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

For He says:

"In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you."

Behold, NOW is the accepted time;
Behold, NOW is the day of salvation.

2 Corinthians 6:1,2 NKJV

_________________

Since we have NOW been justified by his blood,
how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath
through him!

For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled
to him through the death of his Son, how much more,
having been reconciled, shall we be saved through
his life!

Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through
our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now
received reconciliation.

Romans 5:9-11 NIV

_________________

There is therefore NOW no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:1,2 NKJV

Last Days? Meditation 7/29 - 8/04 ESV

Last Days?

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot--they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all-- so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

On that day, let the one who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back. Remember Lot's wife. Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it.

Luke 17:26-33 ESV

===================================================================================

In Liverpool & Southport pedestrian precincts on Tues, I called out what I'm en route to repeat in Chester's today:-

"What a huge difference from the weeks of miserable rain to the fantastic sunshine!

Like the huge difference from drab, dull, ordinary TV to the fantastic, freeview 12 Christian channels - Sky 760 to 772!

Staep into the sunshine of God's love on those fantastic, freeview 12 Christian channels - Sky 760 to 772!!"

God bless!
