Stuck at a crossroad in my life.

I'm 15, in 10th grade, and stuck in a huge crossroad in my life. For my future career, I cannot decide what i'll do!

I have a yearning to become an actor, get lots of money, donate to the church. Thats a grand vision. But a career like that is based entirely on 40% talent and 60% luck!

And then theres another career: Vetinerian. I have always loved animals, im a HUGE animal nut! But I have always wanted to feign the life of others, facing problems I never had in my life: all under being an actor!

If only there was a career in martial arts... (another huge part of my life!)

And the only suitable career that ties to martial arts is an actors career!

PLease pray for meh :sad

Hey, calm down...

You're only fifteen, you still have time to decide what you want to do. You have two more years of high school, and a lot can happen in two years. Wait for yourself to gain more experience and get to know yourself better...fifteen is still a little young for you to know exactly what it is you're going to do.

This is what options in university are there for. I'd check out my options from now, if I were you--especially because you seem to be pretty eager to know what it is you want to focus on. (Like look up different universities and see what they offer, and see if you're drawn into anything.)

I like the idea of you wanting to be a vetrinarian, that's what I wanted to be when I was younger because I loved animals--still do. (I have two cats at the moment, and have had tons of different kinds of pets as a kid.)

Acting is a tempting option, but I like the fact you're realistic about it and now it can be one heckuva long shot, even if you have all the talent in the world. I can't give you much advice in this area because the only acting I've done is home movies with weird plots in front of my sister's video camera.

And, hey, you're a fellow martial artist! I study it too, and love it to death. I'm a brown belt in Shorinjiryu karate. What do you do? If you want to know about your options concerning a career in the martial arts, you could check out this really informative website: http://www.fightingarts.com. Click on the "forums" link--there's tons of really good info there and some nice and knowledgeable people. You can learn what they do concerning their own martial arts and if they have careers in it.

I hope I helped! My prayers are with you.

:)

Yes your walk in life is just beginning. try not to rush it along. It dose go by fast enough on it's own. :o

I will say a prayer for you on this but seek all comfort, guidance and wisdom from God.

Whatever you decide to do now it will change again later on. Prepare yourself for several possible roads and detours. You do this by making sure you are well versed in math and science followed by the ability to not only read but understand what you read. Learn how to think critically. No matter what school you go to no matter what piece of paper you acquire if you can't apply and think you will be found out. Only a few people ever make any money acting. I think your ratio of 60/40 is way off. It is more like 90/10 or even far less with 90 being luck. If you are not competing nationally in martial arts at this time you probably will never make any money here either unless you branch out to training others. The shelf life of a martial artist making money is very short. Lastly stay out of trouble, work hard, work part time, and get a feel for what you might like to do.

Hey, Don't do anything that you don't feel God is telling you to do. I think when God wants you to know what you need to do with your life you'll know it. BE PATIENT!

Although there is have been some good suggestions here, I wonder, have you spoken to your parents about this yet?

Also, many times, your school counselor may be able to help steer you in the right direction, since they know you on a personal level better than any stranger, for sure. :)

Bless you, do look to professionals who are already in the field you are interested in, people you know, in school and at home.
Go talk to some vets.
Maybe you can do some volunteer work in some of those areas in order to get a sense of the profession. Usually, when you do volunteer work, it is good for your resume, good for your community, and good for your experience.

Bless you. :)

John here: This post is the BEST ADVICE! Romans 8:14

At 15, there is NO way that you cannot understand this challenge. Perhaps better at this age than when older & becoming a Christian later on in life.
But regardless, If this is always done, you will in no way be found not knowing what you are to do. Let God LEAD you rather than the other way around. Acts 5:32
