Sunday's worship service at my church seemed dominated by thoughts of sub-Saharan Africa. Our pastor's sermon included passionate discussion of both the rapid growth of Christianity, and the violence of Boko Haram, in Nigeria. Our pastor and several families are Nigerian. I spent most of our community concerns time discussing the funding of Methodist based Africa University in Zimbabwe. A young man explained his plan for mission work in Mozambique.

It wasn't planned that we would coordinate discussions on Africa, it just developed that way. It's a sign, I think, of God's work in Africa that so much of our attention is there right now.

Times are very hard in countries like Africa and any country faced with war, but the greatest war is that of a Spiritual war that we stand strong and grounded in the word of God to set free those captives. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those ministries in other countries that face the worst of the fiery darts of Satan as I know many have laid down their own lives for the sake of the witness of Christ so others can be set free. God, bless those who are fighting the good fight of faith giving no concern of what others can do to them.
