I didn't get alot of that stuff, but at least you aren't famous for being a redneck capital!!
When me and my husband become really old man and old lady and the kids are all grown we hope to travel some, and washington state is on the list of places to see, I hear it's really beautiful.
It might be one of those places thats great to visit but you wouldn't want to live there because of all the rain.
I want to see the west coast...and maybe Australia (big maybe on austraila, that will probably take a miracle)

i live in washington and got all of these! lol but i love living here its sooo pretty and as for all the rain, you learn to enjoy it! i love it here! probably wouldn't want to live anywhere else!

Hey Destiny,

I think you would really enjoy the State. Spend some time, go see Grand Coulee (sp) (it's a pretty desolate place, but you could say that ya saw it  ) If you go though, seriously, rent a car. Go late summer, early fall and make sure you drive through wenatchee. If you like apples and cherries, they're the best in the world when they come right off the tree! What makes them so great, is the Okenogin (sp) Valley is a serious valley with small mountains on both sides of it. In the day, it can reach 100 degrees (it's a dry heat, not humid) but at night, it can drop in the 30's. It really makes for a nice crisp piece of fruit. Ummm, yummy! If you like Onions, go to Walla Walla and get some sweets 8-)

I grew up in Spokane and the surrounding areas which is on the east side of the state, next to the pan handle of Idaho. It doesn't rain much on that side of the state as the Cascade mountains pretty much trap the rain on the west side of the state. Directly to the east of the mountains, lays the columbia basin. Believe it or not, they grow more potatoes in the CB than they do in Idaho :o Also, it's all irragated as LA Ca. gets more annual rain than the Columbia Basin.

Back to Spokane, Just north of Spokane is a wee town called Usk. There is an old logging road that takes you up to a top of this really big mountain. From the top of the mountain you can see 120 miles to the south, which is the Palouse. They grow more peas and lentels in that area than the world combined. It's beautiful.
To the East, you can see all the way across Idaho (90 miles) and to the Montana border. It's beautiful. I've actually talked on a cb from that point to the top of Look out pass, which is the Montana boarder which sits on another big mountain.
To the north, you can see all the way to Canada, about 50 or so miles. Lots of big mountains that way and of course, to the west you can see the flats and wheat fields of the Columbia basin.

The whole panoramic view is breath taking. On a cool summers night, the sky comes alive and the tranquility is almost magical.

Swimgal, what part of the western side are you close to? I lived in Seattle then Vancouver for a bit. I couldn't do the rain in Seattle, it was just a bit much for me :-D I like to tan, not rust LOL

Jeff you'd make a good travel agent or tour guide cause now i'm REALLY ready to GO darnit! I'm sold!
I like wilderness places, I really want to see Alaska too. But only in the summertime...it's soooo beautiful and untouched compared to the rest of the country.

Yeah, I think I missed my calling  LOL, maybe that's why I enjoyed driving truck when I was younger. I absolutly love to travel and see different places.

Quick story. When I was in my late teens, my best friend and I lived under this big fir tree for a summer. The branches covered the ground and we mad a little entrance inside. It was pretty roomy and near the trunk, you could actually stand up.

Anyway, we used to have all these wild ideas, like hiking across the Montana Keys (it's a pretty awsome mountain trail). Another one of our hair brain ideas that we never did was to hike Alaska. I think one of the things that stopped us though, is that neither of us liked guns, and we were both scared to death of the Grizzlies.

One day, I'd really like to take a cruise to Alaska. Wood Kroll from Backtothebible.org is putting together an Alaskan cruise... man, I'd really like to go on that!!

Good talking to you again Destiny. Stay out of trouble :bday:

Jeff
