Had a blast with the family this weekend! Went to Ohio for the Super Bike races and had a blast!

Below is a recap of the Daytona Super bike.
Actually, where all the passing took place is where we were sitting for most of the Race on Sunday. It was so much fun both Saturday and Sunday!

Glad you had a good time. Amazing how fast they ride and so close together too. That your car engine in your avatar? Very nice.

Hey Riverwolf,

Yeah, that's my 355. Needs a little tuning, but we'll get there :yes

It's so different being at the races verses watching the races on TV. The Daytona Superbikes which are in the 600 class hit just over 150mph on the straight away, so I'm thinking the Superbikes, which are in the 1000 class are hitting around 170?

It was pretty cool watching them speed down the straightaway, and then pop their body up to help slow themselves down before going into the S curves. It was pretty cool!

I cannot watch racing on TV, round and round they go...
NASCAR is now the number one spectator sport. Not for me.
But, I once lived next to Riverside Raceway in California and would go to the Winston/Western 500 every year. Very cool in person.
I also sometimes go to the local small tracks.
I sold my 72 Nova last year, sad but true. :sad

We really enjoyed The moto-cross race at Redbud in Buccanan Michigan July 2nd. Man it was hot. unfortunatly a privateer died of heat stroke. I don't know his name you know how loud it is at the races. The bikes made empty pop cans vibrate. My husband is a motorcycle nut and has a repair shop. He can put a bunch of parts together and make a bike. Bob races vintage motocross bikes. We were at the vintage bike races at mid Ohio a few years ago.

Riverwolf,
I'm with ya on the round and round lol! I'm actually not much of a Nascar fan, but I LOVE NHRA! Nothing like the smell of nitro!

I had a 71 Nova RS years ago, so I feel your pain!

Hi INHISHANDS55!
I've got a ttr 125 and my 12 year old son has a yz85 and he heard about that boy who got heat stroke and died that day. Actually, we were out riding that evening and it was hot out. My son actually was afraid he would die because it was so hot, so we called it a day. He was pretty shook up about it.

I wish I could post a video of my son jumping a hump in our back yard where he catches almost 30 feet of air. Anyway, we have a friend that races professionally and he's teaching my son moto cross. We hope to go to Baja here in Michigan by the end of the season if he's ready.

Anyway, here is a video of a fantastic save that happened in Ohio during qualifying. Where Taylor almost goes over the handlebars was just out of my view, but I saw him come across the grass and was looking back. Later that day I asked what had happened when he told me. He actually bent the handle bars! Bummer is, he was running a 1:30 lap (that's good) and just pushed it too hard.

Enjoy!
