It wasn't so super hu?I did see the full moon last night, but it didn't appear any brighter or bigger than usual. I wasn't aware it was a special moon, so I didn't pay much attention to it to be honest.
Explain that to me.Enjoying, but slightly worried, also, because of a possible correlation with the Fukushima Japan incident.
I 2nd that. What does it have to do with it?Explain that to me.
Hmmm...Oh, thought this was well-known. There is either a remarkable coincidence or a link of Biblical proportions between recent supermoons (there'll be two more, in August and September) and seismic/tsunami activity in or around Fukushima, Japan, the site of a devastating nuclear disaster (what is it with Japan and nuclear disaster?). In the March 2011 event (9.0 quake), a supermoon occurred about a week or so before the quake. Yet another earthquake (6.8) and tsunami (20cm/8-in) happened off the very coast of Fukushima the day before the first of recent supermoons (June 11, our time, i.e. last Friday).
A gravitational relationship between the Earth and its moon is well-known (i.e. lunar tides), but it is unknown if seismic activity can also be directly linked.
That makes sense to me.Interesting. It's true, the gravity of the moon affects the earth. I suppose that could affect the plates, just like it does the ocean, couldn't it.
Especially when the moon is at perigee, closest to the earth. That makes sense to me.
