I don't think anything football related is idolatry, but it can be taken to that extent. Plenty of churches in America tonight hosted a Superbowl party for their evening service. To me, that's a grievous action, a twisted merging of spiritual Israel and Egypt which should never be. I think we should examine ourselves to see if our elation for the game can match our elation for our salvation. Maybe it's a dated notion but I believe we should always keep our worldliness in honest examination. What are we most alive to and what are we dead to.
Not to rain on anyone's parade. I still have parts of the world I dwell in and somewhat prefer over that blessed spiritual wilderness.
Don't get me wrong. Have your football. I'm not saying it is evil. But it has been evil-ized.
Here's another thing I see with the superbowl (and the media in general). What did kids get to witness today?
"I kissed a girl and I liked it"I posted Leviticus 19:29:
-Katy Perry at Halftime
Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness. Not only in the sex-trafficing link I posted above, but we see in a sense the people prostituting their children. Look how Katy Perry prostitutes herself to the audience singing her song filled with sexual connotations. And as parents let it slide by, they prostitute their children to the wiles of the devil. Look how one prostitutes themselves to the masses. Kids of the masses buy in. They fall to whoredom. The land becomes full of wickedness.
There are other examples of our children being prostituted, such as Planned Parenthood. There's a video that would most likely not be fitting here. Basically it's a compilation of kids going into Planned Parenthood with hidden cameras. They're 15. The adults are recommending sexual practices with the 15yo's boyfriend, telling them to buy sex products, telling them to read adult novels, and telling them a variety of porn sites they can go on.
You know there's a video that I ripped of youtube which exposes the hypersexualization of children. There's a television show where they made these little girls do a dance with these "naked suits" which are skin-tight suits that are skin-coloured. The parents are ok with it. The kids are all uncomfortable as the lady is saying what's gonna happen in the dance routine. And the parents just laugh it off. Yet they have "prostituted their daughters" [for media money] and have caused the land to "fall into whoredom and wickedness".
1) Whoring out children
2) One becomes an example to many
3) Many follow whoredom
4) Whoredom results in depravity
God's word is living. How can we reverse it?
Here's a hard saying:
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:If we don't follow after holiness, and act in holiness no one will see the Lord in us that we are supposed to be an example of.
Hebrews 12:14
The Apostles turned the world upside down. Why can't we turn TV upside down? or off. Make a statement in ratings.
how much ugly stuff is on the internet...better not use the internet...

Yea, i guess the players are just doing what they do and enjoy best. Its up to the individual supporter if they worship teams and players like some do. I mean, in the end they just human and good at something they have done most of there life.
I tell you the truth, i have been lucky to have met many famous people, from sports to music, and i tell you many dont want the self glory, they just want to do there best at what they do, the money and fame is a bonus.
