Today I would like to pray for the hungry overseas. In America we have a lot of social programs to feed people, but in Africa the government offers no aid.
Dear Lord. If we are hungry and thirsty, let us rejoice in your "living water." Hunger will not keep us from you because you have fed us with your word, your compassion and your love. You asked Peter to feed your sheep and he did. May we also feed each other. Not just our bodies but the food of the soul that we wash down with the living you promised us when at the well. You offered this living water to the Samaritan woman so we know you love everyone. Your heart goes out to those who do not believe in your divinity so give us the strength to carry your message to them. Of what use is our mouth if we cannot speak of your love and sacrifice. What good are our hands if we cannot reach out to others. Finally, take away my difficulties that I might bear witness to those I might service of your grace. You know of what I speak and I know that your grace is sufficient for me. Amen
