Are there Swingers in your church who think nothing of repenting of this perverse sin?

Sometimes I wonder why I am prompted to bring up such threads? Because I know there are those on this forum who will only attack it and defend the cause of perversion. But it saddens me to see such an adamant fight for the abomination of sexual perversion and if no one speaks out against this vile promotion, then how else to stop them from promoting such perversions?

If it wasn't for a comment made by another reporter who sat next to reporter Joncich, his presentation would have seemed as if there was nothing wrong with such a thing as swinging. He made no comments in that regard. And I praise God for the other reporter, Ms. Reed, for speaking out against such perverse practices. She is known for speaking out for righteousness sake. We need more like her in the media! I'm tired of reporters who present such perversions on the news. It's like giving advertising to the perverted groups. Why he felt he needed to promote them is beyond my understanding. I don't know if he was on assignment or if he chose this topic to report on. whatever, I feel these things should not be given media attention unless it is being exposed for it's wrongdoing rather than hyping it up without any comment to it being perverted and immoral, damaging behavior which blatantly ignores the consequences of it! So I am so very grateful that Ms. Reed spoke out against it!

My heart is so grieved these days having to confront the perverse things being presented in the media and to see the spread of it so freely as if there is nothing wrong with heathenism and hedonistic practices. Just the other day, a news reporter here in Cleveland, brought up a story of how swingers are abounding in this town, how they are all over the internet and how easy it is to get together with them. He even brought up the fact that "church going people" are involved more than ever.

I am so heartbroken that society has brought such perversions out of the closet so as to give it more publicity merely for the cause of promoting it rather than giving mention to the perverse wrong doing of it. :sad

Makes me want to just go to some remote part of the earth get away from the city, but it's everywhere. Even the fighting for and against perversion is on the internet in Christian based forums. We just can't get away from those who promote it. They are pushing their perversions onto our children and their children's children now because they bring perverted books into the schools and read them to 7 year old children! I cry for protection of our grandchildren and great nieces and nephews! God have mercy! I feel like Lot needing to get out of the city of Sodom! It has gotten so bad. :crying:

I can only hold onto hope!

Matthew 24:22
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Relic,

I hear your heart on this, it comes through in your thread...It is a blessing to me that you are so grieved over such sin, and willing to stand against it. The Lord bless you.

I think there are two different views on how to approach "perversion." The first is to proclaim that it is not for you and leave it at that. The second is to proclaim it is not for others and try to stop them. I have no beef with the first view, but I really dislike the second view.

One problem is that "perversion" changes over time and each person sees it differently. For example, some people see "maritial aids" as perverse. Some see Playboy or National Geographic as perverse. Some see interracial sex as perverse. Some see sex between a 30 year old and a 60 year old as perverse.

People have made laws to try to stop perversion. But it is a grey area. I think it is best to worry about yourself and your family but try not to dictate "non-perverse" actions to others.

I'm sure they too believe they can sin all they want and still go to heaven. Once saved always saved no matter how much you sin :-? :sad
I have just learned this is a common belief, and I can understand why it would lead to such depravity. God is no longer holy or to be feared in a broad range of (so-called) christiandom.
Subtract the fear of the Lord out of the equation, and human beings will sink to the lowest depths.

I understand what you are saying, Quath, but what about the trickling down of such perverse things into our culture? I mean, you are sort of saying live and let live, but then we find these perverse things popping up in the media, in sitcoms, in movies, in books, in school curriculum, on the shelves in gas stations, and they do threaten our children. I mean, Relic was saying that Christian couples are doing this, as if it is okay with God, so it has even creeped into the churches. It just pollutes our nation, really. Look how many people struggle with addiction to pornography, and other such things.

It also changes the mindset of the people in our country, and they begin to look at our children, teenagers, and young adults as people to exploit, and to "teach" their ways, not caring that it is so utterly offensive to God, and to the parents, but only interested in corrupting an innocent person for their own pleasure.

Then you have the government, and other such organizations doing their part in too, in fact, they override the parents every chance they get because they feel they know what's best for our children. This is definitely a mentality that the schools have, that colleges have, that hospitals have, that family planning has, that Social Services has, and so on.

We do not have a Television in our home, because there is so much pornography on television, and because the shows are so packed with cursing, innuendo, sex, nudity, and near nudity, liberal philosophy, etc. We buy, and borrow, only God honoring videos, and some science and educational videos, but even there I have to preview, and watch for things that may rob them of their innocence. We also have to watch every children's book at the library, because you never know what they contain. We home educate because of our own experience with public schools, and colleges, and we have an unwillingness to allow our children to be influenced by them, or hurt by their prejudice against believers. Also, so that hey are not exposed to the worldliness that is just prevalent there as well.

We had some friends, and know of several other families, who were turned in to Social Services over the past three years, for homeschooling. They don't even have a right to view our records in this state, without a warrant from he district attorney. They felt pressured, because of threats to remove the children from their home, to show them logs that they are not even legally entitled to see...but who knows if they would get their children back, and who has the money for a court battle? Some of these people have way too much power, and a huge lack of morality, but they are allowed to determine what's best for our families. Homeschooling is legal here, btw.

The thing is, this pollution, or perversion, doesn't just stay in the bedrooms of a few people, as something harmless...it is out in the open, in positions making decisions for other families, demanding civil rights, and concerned with it's own agenda, only, in every case, and on every level, be it the schools, the courts, the churches, and so on. I agree with Relic, it seems we are all falling into Lot's predicament.

Anyway, I know that was long, but I hope you can see it from our perspective, and understand just how offensive it is, and how desperately we want to protect our children from it, and ourselves. Consider what you would feel, if you had a belief, and relationship, with our Creator, a Holy God.

The Lord bless you.

I can understand that if society follows your beliefs, it is easier to bring your kids up with those beliefs. But the problem is "whose beliefs win?"

For example, say the Quaker's beliefs win. It is perverse to be so tied into technology. Well, we wouldn't want that.

Or if the Catholic's beliefs win, it would be perverse to use birth control.

In situations like this, you have to just abandon the idea you should legislate morality and instead go for rights. The simpliest is to let people do stuff as long as there is no harm. That protects you from their beliefs and protects them from your beliefs.

As for children, I think you are taking the right apporach. Check what they are exposed to. Society is trying to get better in labeling stuff for kids. You could buy a modern TV and only allow for G rated shows to be played due to the V chip. There are good child protection software out there for the internet (some better than others).

I have known some Christian swingers. However, I didn't like them because they were such hypocrits about it. They would talk trash about swingers in public and then do it that night.

Lovely,

This is not me getting at you, just asking.

Was wondering when you are going to let your children become exposed to it all. You can't protect them for ever. I know there's a huge difference between living in the world and being of it, I'm just trying to work out how you are going to help them in learning to live in the world, warts and all. Do you worry that they when they do discover these things you shield them from they will be attracted to them as you have covered them up rather than teaching them that they don't correspond to God?

I was sheltered from a lot of the world - learning about it through teasing friends hurts, I imagine learning about it from a loving parent would not.

Again, just wonderings as you have shown me a lot about how to bring up children, and I can see it would be valuable for me to think about this.

Hi Quath,

"whose beliefs win?"

This is the main question, I suppose. All I know for sure, is mine loose most of the time anymore. Honestly, legislating morality is a phrase that just bugs me a little. I probably have said this before, but there seems to be no limit to legislating immorality. We gain freedom in that particular area, while we loose it in many others. The message I get from the world, as a believer is, " Vote, but don't vote as a Christian." "Shed your beliefs at the door so that you don't happen to legislate morality, but the rest of us, we can take our belief systems into the voting booth legitimately, because our beliefs are more fair, less restrictive, and well they just make more sense because we are so intellectual and all." lol I know, I sound negative, but I'm not as negative as I sound, really. I love the life God has given me, and I trust Him, but sometimes this stuff just gets to me. It grieves me, and Relic was sharing. And, I can't stand that Christians are part of it. It lets me in on what I should be praying about.

I must have been hanging out with the Quakers for too long, because I never heard of this. :-D I'm not always real sure of G rated, though.

Anyway, thanks for your response, Quath. I apologize if I have an emotional tone, but this stuff does hurt.

The Lord bless you.

Hi dancing queen,

I have to go out for the day, but I will reply when I get back. No offense, by the way, I have been asked this before.

The Lord bless you.

I am sure both sides feel this way. Someone wants pot legal and someone wants it illegal. They both give morality arguments.

Someone doesn't want to wear seatbelts yet they get forced to.

Someone doesn't want to see nude Roman statues and someone wants to decorate their lawn with them.

It can get very frustrating. I just try to see society as a great compromise between all of us.

I must have been hanging out with the Quakers for too long, because I never heard of this. :-D I'm not always real sure of G rated, though.
I remember when this came out. People complained with stuff like "I have no kids, why am I being forced to buy a TV that can censor them? I rather pay less money."

I think parental controls improve with time. There are better controls and better information. For example, you may see a PG movie and they will tell you why like "cartoon violence" or "crude language". You can decide which stuff you care about more than others. For example, we try to monitor agabist graphic violence and we don't care so much if the kids see nudity (as long as it is not overly sexual).

Anyway, thanks for your response, Quath. I apologize if I have an emotional tone, but this stuff does hurt.
No need to apologize. Some of this stuff we talk about gets emotional. :)

Hi Relic,

Anything like this within the church is a matter for the pastor and elders, and membership to deal with. Nothing new here. It is not a matter of 'legislating in grey areas' (Quath). Scriptures are clear about this.

No doubt there is somewhere the 'church of swingers' in the making but where is its candlestick?

Swingers in the church' wow I have heard it all. But as I know there is a lot of stuff that goes down with church members behind closed doors. I know I have done my share. Then we go to church and act like we are living a Christian life. T.D. Jakes' said once if you want to find some good actors' you don't have to go to Hollywood. Just look in the church.
