I've met some cunning people in my life. I've learnt that being nice and friendly and open with them, is the worst thing you could do.

You need to be extremely careful what you say. They manipulate and set traps and pounce on anything vulnerable.
They are full blown narcissists. We can all have some of this trait but they are 100% focussed on their own needs. "How can I make myself look good? How can I use this person to make me look good?"
They will act like they are kind and full of compassion. Watch how the face looks fake. The tone of voice sounds fake. Of course to them, real compassion is a weakness.
I think I'm dealing with one now at work. Problem is they have authority and power. I could lose my job or have my hours reduced. Stay tuned.
