Hello,

I am not a christian, or a religious person. I am also not here to start an type of fights, what I am here for is to ask questions. What I hope to get back is answers.

Heres my first question, more most likely will come up threw out this one..

If "God" wants us the human race to praise him, fear him, love him, look to him for knowledge and truth. Isnt that the definition of "Pride" and isnt pride not only one of the "Seven Deadly Sins" but THE deadly sin of them all?

The definition of pride I found at Dictionary.com "a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct"

Like many words and actions; there are two sides to them, a good and a bad. The good pride could be understood as follows:
A parent who is proud of their child's achievement in an area that's good, noble, or honorable (Like straight "A"s on a report card), this is not a sinful pride, but a loving pride.
When God created, He saw somethings that He viewed as good, and it could be said He was proud of those achievements.
In the definition you provided, "a HIGH, or inordinate opinion of ones self"; God is above all things, he is the highest of high, not ordained but the one who ordains, so He isn't proud in the arrogant way.
Satan was truly proud in the arrogant way, his opinion of himself was above and beyond the truth which was why he challenged God for the throne, for God is Truth and Satan wanted to be above that. Not only was this pride arrogant but it was unrealistic and unstable.
I think I understand where your coming from, God says we are to worship Him and that sounds like an arrogant, I'm better than everybody, kind of thinking, however, He is the Almighty creator of all things so it's not a matter of having an arrogant or higher opinion of Himself, there just is no higher position than that of Himself.
So a sinful pride would be for me to think that I'm more important to God than you are, I'm not, He loves us both and wants the best for both of us. A sinful pride says I can do it myself and I need no help from others. A sinful pride is a snooty attitude toward others.
A sinful pride is a person who, because they went to college and have a degree, thinks they're better than me because I only completed high school.
I seriously don't believe that God is of pride. I think that God the Father is very proud of Jesus Christ God the son, but His pride is in Jesus' victory, and that victory came from the utmost form of humility which is the opposite of pride. Jesus humbled Himself and took on being human, lowering himself in humility and remaining in that humility by allowing us to kill Him. If He were proud, He wouldn't have allowed us to touch Him.
God is love, and love is not proud, it is not arrogant or rude, it does not boast, etc.
So, no, I don't believe that God is proud.
I think our enemy the devil is the epitome of pride because he's so stuck on himself he wants everything to suffer his fate, more like a three year old who has a tantrum because he can't have what he wants.
Hope this helped you.

What makes God God is that He is perfect. Is it pride to claim perfection if you are perfect?

God doesn't claim, He declares. The reason is that He is truth.

It is His perfection that is our hope, because He offers us His perfection as a gift. Because Jesus paid the penalty for all sin, His gift of love for us, becomes our way of escape.

God doesn't require praise to feed an insecure ego. God is praiseworthy because of His perfection, love, and compassion. It is only natural to praise that which is worthy of praise.

Yes, pride is a sin. We haven't done anything to be proud of. But God on the other hand is righteous and worthy of our praise. God created all things and is deserving.

Pride is the original sin. God created Lucifer and he was perfect until he became proud. How can we step away from our creator and seek our own when it is He that giveth and taketh away in the first place? It's really insanity is what it is. It's temporary insanity.

Oh, God isn't suffering from any grandiose fantasy. The fact is He is worthy. More worthy than you or I could ever even dream of being.

Proverb:16:4: The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Jer:17:17: Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.

But if he Declares all of this. then isnt that just that same as being some one that is prideful? If you saw some one on the street and declaring that he was the best all round at playing a guitar, the best at any sport. would you not think of this person as a prideful person? To me that is exactly what "God" is doing.. Why did he not lower him self to us? he sent his son showing that he views him self to good to come down himself.

And please do not pull the Jesus is "God" in a human form. He was not, he was a manifestation of "God" just like Moses, The Bob, Zoroaster, and Baha'ullah.

You may not like hearing that Jesus is God, but it doesn't make it untrue.

He is, indeed, God come in the flesh. No man could take away the sins of the world.
It required a perfect sacrifice. No man could ever fit the bill.

You see..You can't see beyond your own knowledge in order to grasp the fact that Jesus Christ was the fullness of God manifest in the flesh. Where do you think a problem like that might stem from?

So did "The Bab"(right way to spell his name) and so did "Baha'ulla" and they both did miracles. So are they also not "God" in flesh?

Doing miracles (true, genuine miracles) are of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. Any man. or woman, who perform a miracle are only tools, instruments of God's righteousness.
In Mark 10:18 Jesus says, "Why do you call me good?" "No one is good - except God alone."
So even Jesus did not elevate himself while with us, He remained humble to the Father's Will at all times. And in every healing miracle he performed He informed each person that it was THEIR faith in Him that did the healing. He did the Father's will, so the healing came through the Holy Spirit because the receiver believed and had faith in Jesus.
If you believe and have faith (which is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you cannot see) and you confess that you want Jesus to reveal Himself to you, so you can know Him, I'm sure He will. And if you are uncertain and having doubts then you can ask for Him to help you with your unbelief.
I hope you come to know Him, as many here will tell you, our God is an awesome God. He wants to be your best friend. The acceptance of the free gift is on us, it's already there for you; you just have to reach out and take it.
God Bless you and keep searching.

Hi Listener,

No one goes to hell for not believing. We are all condemned to hell because of sin we have in our lives.
Each sin requires payment to be made because God is perfectly just and righteous. All sins that ever enter this universe are accountable before Almighty God. Salvation is a free gift that God gives us should we come to faith in Jesus Christ.

Dear Listener,
This is where you will be challenged; disagreements in our understandings. I believe archangel was wrong to say, "No one goes to hell for not believing." That happens to be exactly why people go to hell. They refuse to accept that God the Father made one path to the Kingdom of Heaven and that path is Jesus Christ.
You need to trust God's basic plan that He knew we could not absolve ourselves of sin on our own. So God made the Way to the Truth in the Light of Jesus Christ who died for all sin, for all people, as well as for the world itself. If you reject this truth you reject the path. I encourage you to continue to seek out the path and find the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus is there for you waiting with open arms. Not to condemn you but to embrace you and let you know how glad He is that you returned to Him. He knows you, you just need to reciprocate. Keep walking.

I need to make clarification...
What I meant to say was that sin condemns us to hell. However God gives us the option that if we believe in Christ eternal life can be freely given to us.

So what your saying is that even those who do Believe in a "God" but not Jesus and his father(God) there going to hell? So say I became Buddhist and lived my life the best i could in the name of Buddha. When I die I will go to hell because i fallows the teaching of Buddha and not Jesus?

That right there is one of the biggest reasons why i do not believe or fallow any realign, especially Christianity.

What God wants is a loving relationship with us. Is that pride? He allows us to choose to have that relationship or not. Is that pride?

Because we live in a "Fallen world", which you can learn more about studying the scriptures in Genesis, God had to make a path for us to be able to be with him. To do this he came here to live with us as (Jesus Christ) and to teach us, and to be a living example of perfection which he knew we could not accomplish on our own. That living example of Godly perfection was willingly sacrificed on the cross to pay a price for us to be righteous before God. Is that being prideful? or is that more ultimate humility and love?

Your questions are fair, but your perspective to understanding God is tangled, twisted a bit; Too black and white with little room for more than one or two concepts.

I think if you want to understand God, you might try to pick another perspective, or thought. Is there a God? how about that? Do you believe there is a God? From there we can work on understanding the nature of God.

No i do not believe there is a god. I was raised in a very religious family. I was raised in the Bahai Faith. They believe not in just one manifestation of god. but all; Jesus, Buddha, Moses, Mahmud ect ect but the believe that Bahá'u'lláh is just the most recent one. So I grew up with all the stories of Jesus and the teaching. So i fell my self as a quit learned person when it comes to that.

I also do not think my few of god is black and white at all.. What it is, is a look at god in the eyes of a person that thinks logical, and askes question, a person that want to learn, and a person that wants to teach. If there is a god i believe he wants us to question him, think for our selves, and not fallow any thing blindly which i believe most not all, just most christens and all religious people to do.

If you don't believe in God then why are you asking a question to Christians about a single God you don't even believe exist?

You are right on a few points in your response. God does not just want people to blindly follow him. He invites questions and he does in fact want to teach us more about him. To do that you must be willing and open to truly learning.

When you say; "not fallow any thing blindly which i believe most not all, just most christens and all religious people to do." What exactly is "Most" Christians? 2/3 perhaps? You said you are a logical thinker so I have to assume you have some facts on the amount of Christians as a whole who blindly follow? What would that number be and can you delineate that figure from those you define as "not all". You also say other religions. Personalty I can't answer your questions from the view of other religions.

I should also point out my quote "Your questions are fair, but your perspective to understanding God is tangled, twisted a bit; Too black and white with little room for more than one or two concepts."

I don't want you thinking I stated your view of God was black and white per-say, I did say that your perspective and understanding of God is "too" black and white in your question of God. In other words you are assuming the nature of God that is in no way a Christian understanding of the nature of God, In fact it's not even biblical, so it really deserves no answer at all, however you did say that you where hear to learn, so I am assuming you want to learn about Christianity and the nature of God based on what is taught in in Christianity. However, it seems rather obvious from your response that you are not here to learn, rather you are here to teach what you think and what you are capable of looking up in the dictionary rather than the bible., but which is it? Are you asking a question to Christians to learn a Christian perspective or are you just asking questions to debate what you think?

If you are hear to learn something then ask away. If you are hear to state what you believe then you have done that.

The Bible, Listener, is where you will need to ask your questions, and in the bible it teaches us that we are to trust in Jesus Christ. Nowhere in the bible does it mention Buddha, or teach us to trust in Buddha. I don't see anyone here saying you will or will not go to hell in regards to trusting Buddha. Some Christians might make a theistic deduction and say you will be condemned to hell for trusting Buddha, but the bible does not say you will or you will not. So, I would advise you not look for reasons not to believe in Christianity that you can not justify against the whole of biblical scripture.

Ok, so I'll be the first one to say this then. I believe you will go to hell if your trust is in Buddha or any other religion that is not the Christ of the scriptures. I do believe that there is ample enough scriptural evidence that shows this as well. God is the creator of all life and it is by His very Word that we live eternally. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by God's Word. Romans 10:17. When God's word breathes eternal life into us we *will* have faith and it won't be faith in a different religion.
Faith is the evidence that God first did the work of saving my soul by making me born again creature in Christ. So if you don't have faith in Christ then that's evidence you are not saved.

Not to take away from Listener's questions, but I'd say John 14:6 might support your statement as a theistic deduction; Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

To me he is referring more to his sacrifice for all of man, but are there any other biblical verses or text that you might point to that would say that if you trusted any other religion but Christianity you would be condemned to hell? Anything specifically that would lead us away from merely a theistic deduction, or rejecting Christ completely? I'm asking because I don't know of anything specifically off hand. Do you?
