Teachers
Where do the true teachers of the Gospel come from? Let's see what the Word of God tells us about this.
1Co:12:4: Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
1Co:12:5: And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
1Co:12:6: And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
1Co:12:7: But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
1Co:12:8: For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
1Co:12:9: To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
1Co:12:10: To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
1Co:12:11: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
According to the Word of God teachers are sent forth by God having given men the gift of teaching. According to this this is strictly an act of God and is an imparting of His Spirit. The scriptures do plainly teach that the Holy Ghost is a teacher and a revealer of Gods will. So God chooses who will teach and who will not based on His own sovereign wishes. What happens if we try and make those decisions for ourselves and side step the Holy Ghost altogether? Let's see what the scriptures say.
2Tm:4:2: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Tm:4:3: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Tm:4:4: And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2Tm:4:5: But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
According to this there would come a time when we would cease to rely on the true teachings of God. A time when we would heap up teachers for ourselves, instead of relying on the true teachers we will heap up our own teachers. Not men of the Spirit but carnal men not sent by God. The results of this of course are disastrous. This says that people will have itching ears. Probably because they want to hear anything but the truth. What it's accomplished is nothing. People are
2Tm:3:7: Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Why do we think we can create teachers ourselves? The Bible does not say that we can.
M't:23:15: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
That's just my opinion and I believe it's true with all of my heart. No one else has to like it or believe it. I discerned these things from the scriptures. If there is a problem with my understanding of the scriptures then please do address that issue but do not get angry at me for my conviction.
