Who doesn't like technology? There are some pretty cool gadgets out now. I like technology too, but do we need it?

Contemplating this spiritual war that's going on it occurred to me, if deception is the enemies primary tool, then what is it that we see the most of? Technology. I submit that if Adam had needed a cell phone, God would have given him one. If he needed a car for travel, he would have had it too.

I think that, before the fall of man, that man could levitate and fly, leaving no need for airplanes or automobiles. Cell phones were not needed because Adam & Eve could speak spiritually to each other, telepathically, if you will. We were spiritual beings at that point and wouldn't even have needed a bic lighter.

We could do all this stuff before. Satan doesn't want us to know our identities and capabilities so he flooded us with technology to keep us distracted.

God gave us everything we needed to live on earth.

okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. based on what idea do you think man could fly? we don't know what god would have done if adam didn't sin. im not anti- tech. uhm the bible was written for centuries on papyri. I believe that the torah was written on that. I guess that wasn't a good thing. tech can be both good or bad. its the user not the technology. all of it has cons.

I guess we don't need some things that we get trapped in for sure. and I for one thing tries to relate with my wife on those things that we really don't need.

But the scripture says that He/our Lord will supply our every need according to his riches and glory.

OK set in the middle of a field and do nothing but breathe.

I would like to see Scriptural support for your claims about Adam and Eve before the Fall. As for your arguments about if Adam needed a cell phone or car, God would have given them to him, those are rather nonsensical. As for technology being the deception, it is only if you let it.

Good question. I'll try to give a good answer, lol. It makes sense that's why. We were created in Gods image, we had daily fellowship with Him. Because we hadn't fell yet, it makes sense that we had many other capabilities that were taken away because of the fall. Adam named all the animals on earth, Did God cause the animals to come to him so he could name them? I doubt it. We were in the image of God, and are spiritual beings so it stands to reason that man could avail himself of the other spiritual capabilities also, and why not? we hadn't fell yet. Most likely is that we had total Kingdom access including being able to cross over dimensions. So why wouldn't that include flying?

While it is true that not all technology is bad. It is the user and not the technology as you say (Just like guns, lol) the fact remains that (I believe) we did not need transportation in those days. Did Adam only stay in the garden of Eden? Did he not travel the earth? I think he did.

I don't really consider Papyri technology although I see your point and think that papyri can be considered technology, but even if we hadn't fell, I think they'd of gotten around to needing to write something down so that may have been a provision for us to that extent.

The flying thing doesn't seem to be too hard to fathom. All through scripture we see people ascending and descending through the air. Spiritually speaking, flying and or levitating makes all sorts of sense and would be a trivial ability for God to bestow upon us.

Yeah I guess you're right. If it isn't in scripture, then it doesn't exist or isn't possible.

Show me in scripture...cell phone, SUV, Air planes...not there so they don't exist. Ok

Quite frankly, raising kids without a washer or dryer would have been nasty. I heard the stories from elder generations what scrubbing dirty laundry was like before such technology developed. The same with the oven.

Grouping all technology together is never a good idea.

The only wash board I've handled was during a lesson on how to play a wash board musically. It was a fun experience, but I prefer the guitar (another item of technology) :rocking

yes but you play the wash board with a spoon. I never understand how one has the notes down with that.

Talking about spoons............

What we call silverware was a great advancement in technology. Knives and spoons, followed centuries later by forks....... I'm thankful these were each created.

I went to a church that used the spoon, tub and jug and wash board on a rare occasion.

I still do not see Adam and Eve demonstrating Spirituals (spiritual gifts) when dealing with the serpent:
Word of knowledge
Word of wisdom
Discernment of good and evil (spirits)
etc .

Adam and Eve apparently had kidneys that seems to show a parallel with dealing with sin on a daily basis. Jesus intercedes (always) for us. etc.

Phillip seems to be transported by the spirit, but that is after Pentecost . And Phillip rode in a chariot. (Why not bareback). Sometimes a prophet will demonstrate a one time miracle.

Technology. Rise Peter kill and eat. If a food is declared clean by God, it is clean. Declare the technology clean. Wait! How to humbly, in faith, make a declaration I do not know. Paul was in a modern sounding boat headed for his trial. Why not float on a log? LOL

I agree natural creation has many more symbols that reveal God. Printing presses were modern technology at one time .

Now of course we're talking about something that is not in scripture so is all purely conjecture. But this is not a salvific issue (having to do with redemption) so should be taken lightly. We're just talking. I would hope that the brothers and sisters would keep this in mind and not demand scriptures and so forth. I'm just chatting. I've thought about it and this is what I think. Nothing more.

That said, jason, how do you know that we didn't have abilities like that? :poke
We don't know, either one of us. I don't really know that we didm and you don't know that we didn't. I think we lost a lot of stuff in the fall. It was after the fall that Adam was told that, now by the sweat of your brow you will toil for your sustenance (paraphrased from memory, from Genesis 3 I think.) Anyway, so now Adam had to work for a living, right? Do you agree with that? That would imply that it was easier for him before the fall? So...what was easier? Now he has to walk too if he wants to go somewhere...but before? He really had to walk do you think?

I don't think so brother. We were in relationship then! Would you make your child walk if you had a car to loan them? It wouldn't make sense. God is too good for that. Isn't He? :yes

When did technology really start growing? Within the last 100 years, is there a time period when technology grew by leaps and bounds?

you take that to literally for me to think otherwise. you said if god wanted us to fly he would have given us wings. most creationists assume that the animals we have now are in fact some form of evolution, yup creationist do teach that each animal did come from an orginal mother and parent creature just not like the naturalist say. there weren't chihuas then, nor huskeys and other animals we bred or nature modified. but there was the original ancestral dog. the dog is still around. we usually call that micro evolution.

adam didn't name the animals we have today, did he call the huskey the huskey? no they didn't exist then. what about the different types of cows? lambs and goats and camels( , two hump and single hump)
