Now of course we're talking about something that is not in scripture so is all purely conjecture. But this is not a salvific issue (having to do with redemption) so should be taken lightly. We're just talking. I would hope that the brothers and sisters would keep this in mind and not demand scriptures and so forth. I'm just chatting. I've thought about it and this is what I think. Nothing more.

Phillip seems to be transported by the spirit, but that is after Pentecost . And Phillip rode in a chariot. (Why not bareback). Sometimes a prophet will demonstrate a one time miracle.

Technology. Rise Peter kill and eat. If a food is declared clean by God, it is clean. Declare the technology clean. Wait! How to humbly, in faith, make a declaration I do not know. Paul was in a modern sounding boat headed for his trial. Why not float on a log? LOL

I agree natural creation has many more symbols that reveal God. Printing presses were modern technology at one time .

That is correct, there was no apparent response of a spiritual nature from Adam & Eve to the serpent shown in scripture. This was a trial for Adam & Eve (God knew they would fail it), and we do not know the spiritual or "natural" state that they were in. Apparently, they had no knowledge of good and evil at the time or discernment. I *think* that Adam & Eve were as little children to an extent, not knowing about dangers and deception, only trust daddy, ask first, and don't eat from that tree. If they had certain spiritual abilities like I am conjecturing, i.e. flying, telepathy etc., then I suppose it's plausible that, them being very young (psychologically) that they could do some things but not all things. (Look daddy, I tied my own shoelaces!)...but do not have the wherewithal to be able to stand up to an experienced hustler. The shoelaces being flying or communicating with the spouse. So basic of an action that even a spiritual child can do it. That's what s**ks about it lol, we just don't know how spiritual beings...live and do things. From what we can read about, Angels do not walk (for the most part) They blip in and out. Jesus did too in the upper room. Adam & Eve could have possessed those abilities at the time of temptation and didn't need to use them at that time, they were standing there having a conversation.. It could be as simple as that.

Phillip air lines! A great example. He was transrelocated from where he was baptizing the Ethiopian, IIRC he was transported about 27 miles to another city. His business with the Ethiopian was concluded, and he had other work to do somewhere else. Or perhaps it was dinner time and he went there to find a good restaurant? LOL. Either way, he needed to go somewhere and didn't have a car, and he didn't have to walk!

Absolutely, if God declares something clean, roll with it and use it. Technology is the same. I admit, I have prayed over technology before. Layed hands on a furnace because the Lord rode with me to work that day, so I did, lol. It did glorify God in that everyone won. Not that technology can be possessed, but who knows? Can't hurt. So a declaration would be a typical prayer of faith. And humbly walk it out. Being at that moment of needing to go somewhere with no means is when we turn to God in spirit and He will not forsake us. Presuming of course that our need or want is in accordance with His will, so not tempting the Lord with extraneous requests or expectations is the wise thing to do. I doubt we could say, ok God I wanna go shopping in Paris today let's go.


Yeah I used to wonder about evidence of God. Now that I am Christian I can not step outside without noticing His creation everywhere. As bad off as this planet is, it is magnificent even now. I couldn't make a pine tree, lol.

I don't believe Edward is insinuating that technology is evil.

No I am not saying it is evil, but rather that it is a distraction from the Lord. We think we need it but in reality probably do not. knowing how to live spiritually would free us from the necessity of technology. We just don't know how. I feel in my heart that this is all tied to relationship. The more intimate our relationship with Him, the more our blinders are loosed.

Technology takes up a lot of our time. It is not inherently evil but may in fact be a tool of the enemy to enslave us and control us. But since it is laying on the battlefield, we Christians are able to pick it up and avail ourselves of a Godly use for it which may increase the kingdom! Jesus is all over youtube and lots of good messages and truths can be found there.

Without modern technology, there would not be this wonderful 'home' known as Christian Forums, where we are able to gather together in fellowship with one another. Nor would many of us have the blessings of the friendships we share with one another here.

you take that to literally for me to think otherwise. you said if god wanted us to fly he would have given us wings. most creationists assume that the animals we have now are in fact some form of evolution, yup creationist do teach that each animal did come from an orginal mother and parent creature just not like the naturalist say. there weren't chihuas then, nor huskeys and other animals we bred or nature modified. but there was the original ancestral dog. the dog is still around. we usually call that micro evolution.

adam didn't name the animals we have today, did he call the huskey the huskey? no they didn't exist then. what about the different types of cows? lambs and goats and camels( , two hump and single hump)

I didn't say God would have given us wings. I thought about it but did not. I don't think wings are a necessity to be able to fly spiritually. The wings on some Angels in scripture...don't actually say that they are for flying and I suspect that their wings...may have a different purpose. That's for another thread though, lol.

Basically I mean: our physical bodies can be an image of spiritual traits God has. If God sent his Son to die for our sins, then we daily need toxins (sins - parallel thought) removed from our body. It is a parable like thought. See toxins removed; understand sins are taken care of by a God method. In our created body kidneys remove toxins; for our sins Jesus died on the cross to take away sins. Both toxins and sins are dealt with by God. Biology book ( from creation), or John 3:16 for sins.

The physical imagery of God's spiritual characteristics are a normal thought for me.
Seeds planted in ground are explained by Jesus to be the word placed in men 's hearts.

First the physical then the spiritual.

Oh I absolutely agree with you. There's no reason to not use most technology. Gotta love those washer and dryers, lol. I like guitars too but can not play. As you already know, I like guns too. Ya' know, it's weird. Out of all the guns and types of them out there... Even though I like the AR15's and semi autos of course you know, modern efficiency and all that, actually, as a technological device...I like the single action revolvers most of all. You did?! Wow, that's very cool. Did you modify the lever on the rifle also for the trigger trip so it would fire upon closing the bolt? Oh, that was a sweet setup! What he did was to drill the triggerguard in front of the trigger and thread it to take a small bolt. It would also have a nut for locking in the adjustment. Then, you just screw in the screw until it will engage the trigger upon closing. That's how he shot it so fast. When you don't need the trigger trip active, you simply loosen the locknut and back out the screw until it no longer reaches the trigger
I came so close to modifying my 45/70 in that way! But that's the thing...who in the world wants to shoot a 45/70 that fast?!

Now maybe I can tie the body to technology. If you study glycogen production, storage, release in the liver (I am not an expert I this subject) it gets very technical. Metabolism is an area of liver function too.

When I begin to discuss our body design and function, many label the conversation as technology; and that shuts down learning from body function. God said (let us make man in our image - male and female mad he them). The physical hides great spiritual truths. You just better have a good ox to break the seed coat on the corn. A wild stallion will not do the job (crushing and mashing corn kernals and coating into a mess). Roughage / cellulose can be digested by clean animals ( this is about meditation and not digestion - taken to the higher spiritual levels).

I can somewhat discuss what happens in an engine combustion chamber, but I learn more about God from studying His creation. If I have all knowledge about technology and have not love (God's kind of instruction) the cymbals are just clanging away.

Really I wind up seeming to be highly strange. I do leap from a scriptural base (I hope). The things of God are seen in what he created.

I can partially take internal combustion piston engines and show grace through the study of detonation and how some of it is resolved. There are plenty of scriptures that can be brought in.
