Ten Year Old Gives birth in Mexico

My heart goes out to this little girl. She is still a child. Whoever did this should face the court. In Barbados the age of consent is 16. I remember in 1969 an 11 year old girl gave birth to twins.

Something is so wrong...when little girls have to be placed in adult world so soon. I have two granddaughters, one is five and the other is eight, I would hate this to happen to them.

My sister, may this surprise you at all, in my counry in Benin, we saw five years ago 9years old gave birh. You know why? All depend of the education they received from their elders. May in this girl family every one must have a man friend when they are still young and they started doing sex since they were young. In another case , It may be her family are very poor and she must start doing sex for money to be able to feed their parents and that can happen. Anyway everything is on the education they have received. Education accouding to the word of God can not push her to do that. Thank my sister . from pastor AHOGA

My cousin had a baby when she was 11. She was going to give the baby up for adoption, but once the baby was born, she couldn't do it. Her parents helped her raise her little girl until she was out of school and able to support the both of them. She did marry and then her husband also supported the girl.

Now my cousin is 48 and her eldest daughter is 37. They are more like sisters now than mother/daughter, they have a very close relationship.

In my cousin's case, there was no crime committed because the father was just 13 himself... two kids messing around and not realizing the consequences. The father dropped out of the girl's life... but her grandfather and stepfather were her real dads.

With a lot of love and support, things can work out OK... but no doubt about it, as soon as they found out that Lori was pregnant, her childhood was over.

I hope the little girl in will have the support she needs to raise this little boy. It's sad that the article is more about the need for more abortions.
