Thankfully John the Baptist Didn’t Wear Cotton!

When God rejected Cain's sacrifice of plant material in the biblical story of Cain and Abel God was pointing out that anyone who uses plant material like cotton, or any other earthly material, to act pious will be rejected by God.

Notice that John the Baptist wore a garment of camel's hair when he Baptized Jesus Christ.

Back in the Story of Cain and Abel, when Abel received God's favor by sacrificing a lamb, God was telling us that the death of an innocent lamb, ultimately God's son Jesus Christ, must be required for our forgiveness of sin.

But equally when God rejected Cain’s sacrifice of plant material God was telling us that any significant event that involved Jesus Christ’s confirmation as the Son of God, come to us to be a sacrifice for our sins, must be done wearing an animal skin of some kind. For instance, Jesus Christ being born in a manger surrounded by animals (hint: animal skins).

My point here is that by John the Baptist wearing a garment of camel's hair only confirms the authenticity of the Bible as the word of God! If John the Baptist wore a garment of plant material, that was rejected by God as a sacrifice for our sins in the Story of Cain and Abel, it would contradict and invalidate the authenticity of Jesus Christ as the Son of God who came to this world as the innocent lamb free from all sin.

Truly everyone can believe that the Bible as the word of God. Why else would John the Baptist’s clothes be included in the story of Jesus Christ’s baptism if it wasn't a significant confirmation of God’s true and righteous plan for man’s salvation.

The story of Jesus Christ’s baptism is true and validated by the facts that establishes God’s son Jesus Christ as the true lamb sacrificed on the cross for all of our sins. To receive the forgiveness of sins that Jesus Christ offers to all of us, and gain life eternal with God (God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit) , just believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

I believe that the beast, as described in the Book of Revelation, will herald the Antichrist wearing an animal skin of some sort to deceive those who are left behind after the rapture.



 
Since this is not a debate forum, I can't debate this subject. I can only tell you what I know about the animal skin which is cast off the offering. It is my understanding that the skin of the animal being sacrificed represented the sin that was the object of the sacrifice. The blood that was shed from the animal was sprinkled on the altar being a representation of life sacrifice. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission. The animal itself is the sacrifice, and food for the priests. The skin was discarded as representing sin and cast away from the holy place and placed outside the camp. People would gather up the skins to make certain clothing or footwear from the skins.

The Rapture comes after the Resurrection, which occurs at His Coming.

God rejected Cain, and therefore rejected Cain's offering.

Not matter what Cain offered it would have been rejected.

camels aren't on the list to be offered. I cant recall if they are even kosher.

Camels are specifically mentioned as being unclean.

Nevertheless, among those that chew the cud or part the hoof, you shall not eat these: The camel, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you. (Lev. 11:14 ESV)

7 The king asked them, “What kind of man was it who came to meet you and told you this?”
8 They replied, “He had a garment of hair and had a leather belt around his waist.”
The king said, “That was Elijah the Tishbite.”
(2 Kings 1:7-8 NIV)

It signified him as the Elijah who would come to turn the hearts of the people of God back to God in preparation for the coming Messiah, just as Elijah turned the people of God back to God in his day.
