Here's the 3 S's that got a bad wrap as being unhealthy, but I believe are actually one of the healthiest things for any sick person:
1) Salt: Don't kid yourself, they cherry pick the data so that nations with the highest salt content AND the highest blood pressure "confirm" their data that "salt is basically bad". In fact, one study showed that the orientals, who have one of the highest salt consumption in the world, have the lowest blood pressure. When confronted with that, one doctor said of the study, "Well, if they ate less salt, then their blood pressure would probably be even lower!" Yeah, right. That's the most imbecilic statements I've ever heard, and then they want to push this off as "science". If proponents of natural foods and vitamins made such a statement, it would be decried soon enough by the mainline establishment as "unscientific".
2) Saturated Fat: Depending on the kind, your body basically breaks this down to monounsaturated fats, the best kind, so they say. The others are rather benign neither helping nor hurting cholesterol levels. Polyunsaturated fats, aka most vegetable oils is harder for the body to break down and use up, oftentimes with too much Omega 6 fatty acid when we need more omega 3's (such as what is found in egg yokes they tell you to discard when watching your cholesterol). And yet, the Poly's, the "worst" of the fats, are the ones they basically push. (Note: I'm not saying any food is bad, per se, but rather the balance that's important)
30 The SUN: It helps us make the "sunshine" vitamin D which helps prevent cancer, heart disease, depression, inflammation and the like. It is made from the synthesis with cholesterol. Oh yeah, that's right!!! The sun and cholestrol are the two things they tell you to AVOID at all costs! Silly me.
