Bible Study The accuracy of the Lords use of Scripture

During Christ's ministry, He used and confirmed many of the Scriptures in the OT. And since He is God He would know what was true. He usually refers to the OT as "the writings of Moses, The Prophets, and the Psalms of David." And the importance and truth of the Scriptures are so that they can not be broken (John 10: 35). And they shall be fulfilled to the smallest degree (Matt. 5: 18).
Christ confirms:
The Mosaic authorship and inspiration of "The Pentateuch."(Matt. 22:23-32; Mark 7:8-13 Mark 12:26; John 5:46;
Creation (Matt. 19:4)
The Flood (Luke 17:27)
Destruction of Sodom (Luke 17:29)
Lot's wife (Luke 17:32)
Jonah (Matt. 12:4)
The Psalms of David (Mark 12:36)

In OT prophecy there are to be two advents of the Lord. Most of the time they are prophesied in one Scripture that run the two advent together. The NT adds another appearing of the Lord for The Church, His body and Bride which was a mystery revealed to Paul that was hidden in Christ until now. (Eph. chapter 3)

After the temptation of Christ the Lord travels to Galilee and enters the Synagogue in Nazareth on the Sabbath Day where was brought to Him the book of the. prophets. He opens the the book and found the place where it was written. (Luke 4:16-17)
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach The Gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted , to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of the sight of the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Isa. 61: 1-2(a)

This reading by Christ is from the prophet Isaiah (Isa. 61:1-2(a)) He does not finish the Scripture or part (b)....why? Because Isaiah 61:2 is the two advents of Christ. The first advent He comes in humility and weakness, But in 61:2(b) He comes in vengeance and judgment, In His second advent
His first advent has already occurred. His second advent is on it way, soon after the Church is removed. If you believe in Christ, you have to believe His teachings. Those who do not believe in creation, the event with Jonah, Sodom's destruction or any other

Scripture, can not know or trust Christ.

In a general sense this is all true. Yet Jesus doesn't really get into the specifics of how these events are to be interpreted in their physical manifestations, just that they did somehow happen. Most controversy among believers concerns the specifics of how these events unfolded.

Hi Sinthesis, He did give the specifics,"God said, let there be.................", and there was, and He saw that it was good. For the Jews require a sign and the Greeks seek after wisdom (1 Cor. 1:18-25) In the beginning man understood creation and was over it ( Gen. 1:26-31) God was grieved about man and said He will not contend with man forever (Gen. 6:1-7) The earth is nothing like it was when God created it in the begining. The whole earth was flooded and cursed for mans sake (Rom. 8:18-25).
