I was watching as person after person said what was happening in Los Angeles was a apocalyptic event. It was not just a few houses or a couple of acres, but whole sections of the city were being destroyed and no way to stop it, the electricity was out, the water pressure was gone, and the helicopters and planes could not get in the air to put the flames out. People fleeing and finding the roads blocked, and nowhere to run. Looks like we are seeing signs of what will happen at the end, as the cup of iniquity overflows. They will try to deny what is happening and say it's just climate change or a result of gas cars and pollution, but it's more than that, much like what happened at Sodom...

I lived just south of LA in Orange County back in the 70s. I actually moved because I witnessed the public display of immorality and anti-religious bias. I believed, at the time, that Divine Judgment would soon fall upon that area, and didn't want to be there.

I knew that there were many Christians, and didn't need more. And so I returned to my home state of Washington. It is also very ungodly and anti-religious, but it has been less-evangelized than S. CA.

But one of my best friends is still there. And I'm embarrassed to say that Divine Judgment did not fall as soon as I had suggested to him. He actually continues to thrive there, after all of these years.

But we can see that God's Judgment has fallen, which certainly will not end with just this one incident. Since people there will not repent more judgments are soon to follow, I would expect?

Some people think that acts of Nature or calamities that are Man-caused cannot be confused with "Divine Judgment." For example, they see an earthquake taking place out in the ocean or out in the desert as "pure Nature at work." Otherwise, it appears that "God missed?"

But signs of earthquakes and natural upheavals are warnings before the real Judgment falls. The Media doesn't always report how specific God's Judgment can be. I have clippings where a rare article identified the fact an earthquake in LA directly hit a major X-Rated neighborhood where national pornographic material was being produced and distributed!

Some hurricanes have directly hit casino-infested areas in New Jersey and in Louisiana/Mississippi. Is God really a "bad shot?"

I think this is only a warning of the future Apocalypse, when God will judge the earth at the Coming of His Son. It may be a nuclear world war, and it may be much more. The reality is that God will not allow human sin to continue to increase, as it did in the days before the Flood. God will at some point put an end to it.

Revelation 9:19 For their power is in their mouth and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents, having heads; and with them they do harm. 20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Revelation 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.
Revelation 16:11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.

I remember people reading these passages saying "what is wrong with these people, why won't they repent."

I think I have figured it out. They are just like Christians today who do not believe God would ever do these kinds of things to people. So they blame it on "mother nature" "climate change" or whatever they can think of.
To them there is nothing to repent of. These disasters have nothing to do with God.

I remember a long time ago, Jerry Falwell said some disaster was because God was trying to tell us something, and he was castigated even by Christians. They would ask him "when did you get a direct line from God?"

We have a direct line from God:
Amos 3:6 If there is calamity in a city, will not the LORD have done it?

I think this text is what applies..
Amos 4:10
I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

Couldn't agree more. I was upset with a former pastor who denied that any of the natural calamities have anything to do with "Divine Judgment." He said a lot of the world's problems are the product of Sinful Man, and not God. He said that in the NT era, we are under Grace and not Judgment. I couldn't have disagreed with him more.

But that pastor recently died, and I want to protect his legacy regardless of our differences. His memorial service was last Saturday. If he could visit me now he could tell me how he thinks now...

Many have had their eyes open, but others are still in denial..

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
Ezekiel 43:1-9 I went to the East gate and there I saw the glory of the Lord coming with the sound of a mighty torrent. The earth shone with His glory, it came in and filled the Temple, the place of His throne where He will dwell among the Israelites forever. Neither they nor their rulers will defy the Lord again by their idolatry and sins. Israelites; every faithful Christian. Galatians 3:26-29, 6:14-16

Ezekiel 43:10-11 Ezekiel, tell them about the Temple and let them be ashamed for their sins. If they repent and are remorseful for what they have done, then describe to them the new Temple, to be built on the Holy mountain. Make detailed plans for them to follow and carry out, with all the instructions for its operation.

Ezekiel 46:1-3The East gate is to be kept closed during the six days of the working week, to be opened only on Sabbaths and at the new moon. When the ruler, [The prince in the NIV & KJV] comes in, he is to stand by the East gatepost, while the priests sacrifice his offerings. He is to bow down in worship and then to leave. The people must also bow in worship at that gate. Malachi 1:5

Ezekiel, the prophet, lived during the period between the exile of the Northern tribes and the Jewish captivity. His prophecies about the Land and the Temple have not yet happened, as when the Jewish remnant returned under Nehemiah, that Temple did not receive the Shekinah Glory. All of Ezekiel chapters 40 – 48, await fulfilment and note that this must be before the Return of Jesus, as the ‘ruler’ of all of Gods Christian peoples, makes sacrifices and worships the Lord at the New Temple. Jeremiah 30:21, Zechariah 14:21

He is tramping out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored Isaiah 63:1-6
Revelation 14:18-20 From the altar came the angel who has authority over fire and he called out to the angel with the sharp sickle: “Gather the harvest, the grape clusters are ripe.” They were gathered and thrown into the great winepress of God’s wrath. Blood flowed from the press for 200 miles. Revelation 6:12-17, Amos 5:17, Jer. 6:9

He has loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword
Ezekiel 30:1-8 Prophesy! The Lord says: Cry out, for the terrible Day is near, the Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath, His Day of Reckoning upon the nations. A sword will come upon Egypt and there will be disaster in all of the Arab lands. Those who support Egypt will fall and all who live along the Nile will die. When I set Egypt on fire, the land will become totally desolate and ruined. They will all know that I am the Lord, on that Day.

The Lord’s Day of reckoning – a Day of fire, His terrible Day of vengeance and wrath, will be an unexpected and shocking event, that will cause destruction throughout the Middle East. It will be the fulfilment of Psalms 83 and Micah 4:11-12. Other prophesies make it clear that the whole world will be affected and that it will take the form of a Coronal Mass Ejection sunstrike. A really big CME will have all the effects described, but it quickly passes, leaving the Holy Land ready for His Christian people to gather and settle there. The rest of the world’s nations will form a One world Government. Daniel 7:23, Revelation 17:12-13
His Truth is marching on!
