The Bible Does Not Teach You Go To Heaven!!

What about my questions above? Does the "eternal body" have these characteristics?
Jesus ate food in his resurrected body. And he wore clothes. And he was subject to being touched. While I believe that the Scriptures are not definitive about this, I would bet that we would have "perfected" (or vastly improved) versions of all the "sub-systems" we presently have in our bodies.

The point is that the Scriptures paint a picture that "creation is good but damaged", and that God is redeeming His damaged creation. So it would not surprise me at all if the "redeemed" human body has all the "squishy gooey stuff, etc" that it does now. Only "fixed" from its fallen condition.

I just find it a little difficult to see a "god" as one who has a [even a perfected] body. If this body has to elliminate waste, . . . .

Would those who are male still have atonomical outer "parts"?

I politely raise the possibility that, like the rest of us who have grown up in "the west" (I assume you live either in N. America, or Europe), you have been raised on a steady diet of implicit gnosticism / platonism - embodying the notion that the "material order" is somehow "bad" or inferior to some mysterious "spiritual" dimension. I suggest that this is not a Hebrew idea.

I would bet that the answer is "yes".

Drew, I appreciate your politeness. I hope to return the same. :)

Yes, I live in N. America. The material isn't bad, but some parts of it . . .kind of is, . . . or is just unnecissarily messy, for instance, waste disposal from the body. I hope to not sound "blasphemous", but does Jesus need to do this?

I find this existence to be incapable of perfection. Being trapped within a vessel of dirt is restrictive.

I would bet that the answer is "yes".

Will people have sexual intercourse. . . at that time?

Being trapped within a vessel of dirt is restrictive.
I do not mean to be flippant, but what, exactly, do you expect? The ability to instantaneously travel to any part of the universe? Perhaps I am reading too much into your choice of the word "dirt" here, but you seem to have this implicit belief that the "material" is "bad".

There is a lot to be said for "being embodied" - the smell of clean air, the joy of running with a fit and functional body, the taste of fine wine, the beauty of visual landscapes presented to us through our eyes. And so on.

I suggest that the "correct" position for the Christian to eagerly look forward to having a healed, fully functional body, and not to yearn to escape from the body.

Will people have sexual intercourse. . . at that time?
Maybe.

Drew, I agree that it would be wonderful to have a body that is free from flaws and is able to see, hear, taste, feel, surroundings in a world that has flaws gone. Even one that could enjoy sex with an equally non-flawed body [I bring that up because without the possibility of sex, sexual organs are ridiculous to have]. It just seems too "centered on the joys of humans" than what I have always heard in church, in the past, . . . people being made to worship god around the throne for all eternity.

Well, I politely suggest that this picture of an eternity spent "singing in white robes on a cloud" is both decidedly unBiblical and, frankly, not very interesting besides.

We are told that God made humans in His own image. And there is a strong strain of "God as creator" in the book of Genesis and elsewhere in the Bible. I strongly suspect that redeemed humans will not spend eternity singing to God while strumming harps - we will be at "work" in God's good (then redeemed) creation, doing all sorts of interesting things.

The future world is still a "project"-it is not a time for "rest".

I don't understand the reason for physical bodies for eternity. Way to restrictive. Will this body require clothing? Will people walk around naked? Will they have the central nervous system necessary for senses? Do these bodies have the same internal organs necessary to digest food, required by the body to survive? Is waste expelled in liquid and solid form? Will it require a skeletal system to keep the body upright? The ability to remodel bones that will probabaly never need it? Lungs to take in oxygen to stay alive? . . . . If not, . . . is there just a gooey inner filling?

Do the angels have physical bodies? Do they operate well enough? ...........................................

E"

Very good questions! I promise all of them are answered in the Bible.

Try to imagine a glorious body so far beyond your imagination that the rules of humanoids do not apply any more .

We are told that what He has in store for us is beyond our wildest dreams and I can dream wild.

For instance Isaiah teaches we will be able to walk through fire, or breathe underwater, a body that can not die, but looks exactly like you now. Angels do not require food they have no blood or organs like humans.

No need for waste removal. Can Angels eat human food if they so desire, of coarse , but still no need for waste.

Immortal beings can walk around in fire and not get burned.

Perhaps you remember Shadrac, Meshac, Abendigo, in the firey furnace when all of a sudden a fourth figure
of an Angel appeared protecting the three from being burned.

Thats how we know that Angels have a glorious body that can walk in fire.

We are promised to become immortal saints like the Angels.

OK so how do we know that Angels look like us, when Abraham was approached by three men and they sat down to eat Sarah laughed when told she would have a baby she sis not know it was an Angel like all three of them are called men who ate with Abraham then later the Angels reveal them selves that they are headed to destroy
Sodom .
The Bible says three men approached Abraham. So they look like us.

Man is made in the image of God.

This is a wonderful glimpse of the" Kingdom Of God ON Earth"

Isa 65:13 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:
Isa 65:14 Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
Isa 65:15 And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:
Isa 65:16 That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.
Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Isa 65:18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever [in that] which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
Isa 65:19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
Isa 65:20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner [being] an hundred years old shall be accursed.
Isa 65:21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit [them]; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
Isa 65:22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree [are] the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
Isa 65:23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they [are] the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
Isa 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
Isa 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust [shall be] the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

Yahshua was born to be King of the Earth and bring " PEACE ON EARTH AND GOOD WILL TOWARD MEN."

The old testament is full of future events.

Even so come Quickly Lord Jesus.
