No I blaime those who repeat something without understanding it.Blame Bishop Barron. He said it.
Well he speaks for the Catholic Church in America. It seems like he is suggesting that the Bible is not perfect nor should we expect it to be, because it was written by human beings. The Holy Spirit inspired part , he didn't mention. No I blaime those who repeat something without understanding it.
He means everything in the Bible is not literal. And not perfect either. Yet the main spiritual truths are there so that is all that matters. Jesus saves us from ourselves. He is the redeemer. The detail is less important. The people who say that are usually those who don't want to believe things in God's word. Perhaps there are things there that they don't want to change in their life. That bishop is a man too. Is he greater than the prophets?
If the bible is not true then we have nothing to follow, except men.
I believe all of God's word is important. He means everything in the Bible is not literal. And not perfect either. Yet the main spiritual truths are there so that is all that matters. Jesus saves us from ourselves. He is the redeemer. The detail is less important.
Sorry I might have misquoted him there. Here is an interesting talk by himI believe all of God's word is important.
Did he say why he believes that?
That’s a really big question.Wow, that's a great video, really got me thinking. As I'm no theologian. My question is what is the first true Bible ? And yes I understand that it's no good to me if I don't understand the language as I'm sure the first Bible wasn't in English. But their is a lot of Bible's. How can I be sure I'm reading the real Bible translation ?
If I had listened to this guy, I would've never even opened up my bible until I studied how to read it. Read the Bible, if God reveals information to you, then he does.Sorry I might have misquoted him there. Here is an interesting talk by him
You have forget to say: (INSPIRED BY GOD).Yes the Bible is the word of God recorded by men, transcribed by men, translated by men.
So what!
Is there any other book or collection of writings that is as accurate a historical record, or so well discribes the condition of man or has such an appt solution?
Let's be honest, would any man invent a solution as humiliating as Christianty?
Would any fiction show its hero's as sinners, or give women prominent places?
These alone make the Bible so significant that it needs to be taken seriously.
