Matt 26:

28For this is my blood of the new testament[Covenant], which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

What did the shed blood of the New Covenant accomplish ? For all those, the Many for whom Christ died and shed His blood, it accomplished first of all

1. Their remission of sins or the forgiveness of their sins which is the same thing. Eph 1:

7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Coincidently, the word for forgiveness here in eph is
aphesis which means:

) release from bondage or imprisonment

2) forgiveness or pardon, of sins (letting them go as if they had never been committed), remission of the penalty

It is the same word used in Matt 26 28 remission, and it means the remission of the penalty of their sins.

All for whom Christ died, and shed His Blood, their Just due penalty for their sins has been remitted, released from all debt.

This means those who Christ died for by shedding His Blood of the New Covenant are released from the debt of the broken law that they broke, transgressed, in Adam, and in their personal lives as well.

This is True whether they have been born or born again or not; The accomplishment of the Blood of Christ to God on their behalf, did not necessitate their existence, for Just being foreknown of God was sufficient, for God and Christ knew who all the sheep were , of all time. Isa 53:

11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Eternal Redemption !

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next thing that the New Covenant Blood accomplished for those it was shed for was their redemption !

Heb 9:

12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Notice that the writer qualifies this redemption with Eternal !

Redemption is in the family with remission in that it denotes release !

The greek word used in the text above is:

lytr?sis:

) a ransoming, redemption

2) deliverance, esp. from the penalty of sin

Its a Eternal deliverance from the penalty of sin, by the payment of the ransom, which is the blood of Christ.

Redemption denotes the price paid for the deliverance or the remission of sins.

Eph 1:

7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

See Paul was not only writing to believers of His Time, but He was stating facts about the accomplishments of the blood of Christ for all whom it was shed, even to chosen ones in Christ who had yet been born into the world of sin and shame.

1 pet 1:

18Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

19But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Notice here Peter says that the blood of Christ redeemed the elect of God [ 1 pet 1:2] from your vain conversation, or manner of Life.

This is contributing to the blood of Christ a conversion from a sinful vain life style unto serving the True and Living God.

The same Truth is indicated in heb 9:

14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

The blood of Christ alone, to those whom it was shed, shall purge their conscience from [ apo] dead works to serve the Living God.

The word apo means:

of separation

a) of local separation, after verbs of motion from a place i.e. of departing, of fleeing, ...

b) of separation of a part from the whole

So the blood of Christ separates those it was shed for from a vain manner of Life unto Serving the True God, this means the whole conversion experience of an elect sinner is effected by the or because of the blood of Christ and the redemption that is His Blood.

The elects freewill does not decide this, their Faith, their Repentance did not cause this, but in Fact, the blood of Christ caused their repentance and Faith in Christ which characterizes conversion.
