The Break Up
I’m sick of your lies;
I need to break the family curses and the ungodly ties
That binds me, ensnares me in the world of lust, lies and deception;
Our relationship was headed in the wrong direction;
So I sought out the ultimate protection;
No need to sneak around, no need to live on the low down,
With my new found love,
The one that sends blessings from above;
The one that wipes away my tears, the one that erase all my fears;
The Holy One, The anointed one, The one I shunned for you;
You are a liar . . . you said you would quench my thirst;
You said that you would put me first; but with you, my life seemed to get worst.
Instead you had me wanting more and more-more lust,
More power, more greed by the hour.
You showered me with deceit and you planted my feet on unstable ground.
But when I tasted that Living water, the water that flows eternal;
I got this sensation inside, my pride quickly died,
My eyes became wet from the effect of the Holy Ghost.
You never gave me that feeling; instead you had my life reeling,
With Him the Sky is the limit, with you there was a ceiling.
So when you see me now, don’t try to cripple my walk;
You can’t stalk me; you can’t try to sweet talk me, I’m never going back to your world
Therefore submit unto God, resist the devil and you must flee;
I don’t want to burn for eternity, I rather walk in peace on my journey with Christ
The new love of my life.
My life is His and not yours anymore
But devil if you come at me wrong, I’m prepared for spiritual war
I will call on my Savior, so do me a favor and flee;
Thank you Jesus, I’m done sleeping with the enemy!
