Preface; The following story although being a work of fiction is based on the true story of the life of Jesus Christ. For we are told a lot in the Bible about Jesus. We are told about how He entered the world through a virgin birth, and how He grew up to become a great teacher, preacher, and prophet to the Lord Almighty. However, what we are not told very much about is His youth. For apart from the book of Luke, we hardly know what Jesus was like as a boy. We know that He was obedient and grew in wisdom and stature, and that He even had younger brothers and sisters. As I was stopping to think about what it would have been like for His siblings to follow behind Him in His shadow, the inspiration for this story was born. For what it must have been like for them to know for a fact that He was sinless, and that there was absolutely nothing they could do to match His inspiration. After that, I started wondering to myself how Jesus must have felt when Mary and Joseph told Him that He was the promised Messiah. The Bible never specifically mentions when He found out. And although from early on Jesus knew that He had to do His Father's business, He still must have felt extreme pressure as a boy knowing that He had to live up to those expectations, and even though in one sense He was perfect, in another sense He felt the same kinds of emotions that we do and this must have scared Him. For even as an adult Jesus begs His Father to; "please take this cup away from me." So,.. in conclusion let me first start off by telling you what this story isn't. It isn't meant to be extremely accurate a hundred percent as in that would be totally one hundred percent be completely impossible. And I'm not by any means claiming it to be true. All I'm doing is share my thoughts and opinions of what I strongly believe Jesus was like as a boy,... meaning,.. a normal child like everyone else. I believe that He laughed and played just like all children do, and apart from the fact that He was and is forever perfect and holy, I'm sure that He can relate to us in some way and or form because He still had problems not only as a man,.. but probably as a child as well. So, keeping all of that in mind, I sure hope to get this story as beautiful and accurate to the life of Jesus as possible, even though it is pure fiction and I really hope that you enjoy it and get something out of it as well. God bless.
