Has anyone seen this..
They explain in detail how the corporation got started.
They also compare the corporation to having psychopathic tendencies,
profit over people. Well, I guess we all need to eat I suppose.
I myself have worked in two different offices in over 10 years, so..

Nobody cares what you think as long as you do your job
It's the new world order, but my order is now with God

Yes. It's on my list of one of the most important documentaries to watch. It's a very fair look at the intrinsic nature of the corporation.

The key to understanding this film is understanding that corporations are in fact legal entities, (individuals) But of curse these individuals are not real people with a conscious, although they are run by real people, who for the most part, exist with individual moral conscious. However, the motive of a corporation as an individual in is fact sociopathic or psychotic.

For example; I own stock in a few companies. One of them is FedEx. I was glade to hear them laying off some employees because they had too many. The move would raise the stock price. That's good for me. I don't want people to loose their job, but I don't wants to loose my investment.

The corporation was created by by the Dutch as shared risk takers in mercantile trade exploration. There is nothing nefarious about it. The problem with anti corporation videos is that they don't differantiate between corporatism and indepedent corporations. Corporatism is something everyone should be against, but then you have same anti market groups calling for corporatism when it comes to unions and government contracts. I will watch the video though too see if I'm mistaken.

If you are interested then I strongly recommend "The Ascent of Money" by Niall Fergusson who is one of my favorite historians. I also recommend watching "Free to choose" tv series by Milton Friedman.

It just makes you think, zombie world that dont care. money is better than human.

Corporations make possible many of the things we enjoy and take for granted and in some cases wait in line outside all night in the cold for,we are able to get on here and complain about corporations because of.....well,corporations...are they perfect...what institution of man is.

shoot. I have been treated better by secular instutions then by the church. I have heard of a local not paying for insurance of its employees, and running them off as they treat them poorly.

Speak Up, Speak Out is a half hour weekly radio show committed to community, peace, justice, and non-violence issues. Oh, and it's free to listen.

The show airs Wednesday at 5:00 PM and Sunday at 8:00 PM Pacific time on KSVR 91.7 FM Community Radio KSVR is located on the campus of Skagit Valley College in Washington State. The show has been broadcast from my campus (WCC) recently.

Steven Reisler, practicing attorney and Chair of the Seattle Chapter of the National Lawyers' Guild, discusses the Supreme Court ruling in the Citizens United case removing limits to what corporations may spend in political advertising.

In this first of two interviews, Mr. Reisler puts this recent decision, and the legal status of corporations as persons into context, by reviewing the history of our court system and the role of corporations in our economy and politics since the late 18th Century.

Here is the link to the AUDIO MP3 of the Broadcast with Mr. Reisler
Another link, same show but in higher quality for those who have fast connections: Audio MP3 (higher quality)

There is more information to be found on the Speak Up, Speak Out archive, some of which is local (Bellingham, Whatcom and Skagit Counties in Washington state) and much is relevant to the broader discussion.

We Americans love to complain,we complain about the government yet we put the same people in year after year,we complain about the very things we live off of and depend on everyday, those evil oil companies who's gas we buy everyday, those evil power companies, cable companies.phone companies that we rely on to be able to complain about them everyday and suggest a lifestyle that few if any of us ever lived or know anything about ....surely somebody somewhere is getting a good laugh out of it all.

well, i guess prison walls is better than being homeless i suppose.

You never know if you're doing good or not because all you here from managers is the mistakes you made. They don't care if you do good, as long as you do your job and make profit. The system forces us to be honest, which allows them to sit back and watch the money come in. If you receive compliments, then consider youself lucky. :screwloose
