Knowing the enemy. God has revealed to us our enemy (Satan) and has told us of his nature and tactics. (Isa. 14:12-17; 1 Pet. 5:8). He is a deceiver, a tempter, he hinders, he is a liar. (2 Cor. 11:14; Rev.12:9; 1 Thes. 2:18) He is also prideful and boastful. Since God has revealed Satan (Devil) to us (Devil means to slander or accuser), we should be aware of all his devises he uses against us (2 Cor. 2:11). Satan or the Devil does two different things. He tries to destroy God's work and His people (1 Thes. 2:18; 2 Cor. 11:13-15) and he tries to accumulate his own worshipers through lust and pride as he tried on Christ in Matt. 4:8-11). But all born again believers, while they may be hindered at times, can never be taken away from Christ's hands (John 10:28-30) (John 17:2, 6, 9, 11) in spite of what others teach and believe....after all, it is Christ who died and arose for our souls, and He has the power over all flesh...not the Devil (John 17:1-3) And people who equate that having the promise eternal salvation with some one who claims they can sin willfully and still be saved...have never been saved....remember, Satan is a liar and deceiver, and God says, "those who sin willfully after hearing the way to eternal life and to escape the wrath to come" have never been changed, they are what they were before hearing the Gospel. (1 Pet. 2:1-22; Heb. 10:26-27). A born again believer does not sin willfully, there is a change in his life...a new man....yet we still sin by the weakness of the flesh...but not willfully. Study 1 John 1:5-2:11 prayerfully.
The battle for our salvation has already been won and the enemy has already been defeated (John 16:32-33), But, because we are Christ's, we will have tribulation from this world (John 15:18; Acts 14:22), But Christ has given us peace (John 14:27)...tell Satan, you are under the blood of Christ, and believe it when you say it...and he will flee from you (James 4:6-8; Eph. 4:27; Eph. 6:11-13). Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.....we should be living a life that represents the citizens of the Kingdom, even on this earth.
