The Definition of Good and Evil in the NFL
The NFL's protest against the American anthem is basically an age old struggle of Good versus Evil going all the way back to the story of Adam and Eve. Evil is the desire of a person, or a people, to rule over their own immorality. Those who seek after destructive immoral pleasures and practices will fight in any way to prevent others from ruling over it. As man's definition of immorality is constantly changing the struggle to rule over it will always be an futile pursuit without a permanent standard which we endearingly call 'God and Country'.
Since God created man in his image we are obligated to uphold God's righteousness in our own lives (hint: 10 commandments). God sent his own son Jesus Christ to become man to uphold God's righteousness in the affairs of man, as an individual, which resulted in our salvation for all those who believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus stated that this world is not his kingdom so he refrains from ruling over the immorality of all mankind until we are in his domain, which awaits us in the hereafter.
The simple fact is that when Adam and Eve sinned they acquired God's knowledge of good and evil. This placed God's knowledge of good and evil directly under man's dominion. Our first act would've been to undo God's judgment of death by eating the fruit of the tree of life thereby negating God's authority to rule over our immorality. In essence we would've become permanently evil.
But God stopped us from making our evil permanent by eliminating our access to the fruit of the tree of life in the Garden of Eden which would've undone all of God's judgment. Subsequently Adam and Eve were kicked out of Paradise. Now as an orphan from Paradise we are learning that replicating Paradise is not possible as we struggle to share our own 'riches' with others knowing that we may be promoting the very same evil, an evil that lies in every person as the knowledge of Good and Evil, which resulted in our expulsion from Paradise in the first place.
In Psalm 111:10 it states that the beginning of all wisdom is the fear of God. This fear is a fear of God being the ultimate judge of our immorality, not us. We will learn that our complacency with our very own evil and sin is not shared by God.
An interesting point is that Adam and Eve used only their mouth to sin against God when they ate the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. Now throughout mankind's history our sin has always been determined on what we can fit in our mouth such as; drugs, alcohol, each others genitals, tobacco, lies, smartphones, etc. Anything bigger than what can fit in one's mouth is of very little use and interest to an evil person.
One begins to wonder that when John was asked to eat a 'little scroll' while in heaven during the Great Tribulation as he viewed mankind's final judgment, as depicted in the Book of Revelation Chapter 10, that the little scroll was in actuality an electronic cellphone of some sort. Since John was a 1st century man viewing the world in the distant future his depiction of a 'little scroll' would resemble today's smartphones, or smartwatch!
We are truly in mankind's last days just before all the events in the Book of Revelation begin to unfold!
Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ who was led to the cross to suffer death in order to forgive us of our sins and welcome us into heaven for eternity with God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit!
The Rapture Draws Near!
God Bless
