I had to have 2 teeth pulled today. One of them kicked my tail for 2 days, I wanted to cry. I have not had teeth pain like that in years. He also cleaned all my teeth which is down to 1. There is nothing like tooth pain. And my teeth has long roots and I thought the dentist was going to have to put his foot in my chest to get better leverage as he pulled. And I have one more to be pulled. Oh and he also filled teeth.

I feel your pain Lewis. Had a couple of wisdom teeth, right side, pulled when I was in my late 20's. Same thing. Dentist put a rubber block in my jaw and nearly had to stand on the vise to get them out. He was a huge man and it took everything he had.

Then, about a year ago, I had a wisdom tooth on the other side pulled by a tiny little oriental woman dentist, about a hundred pounds. I questioned her intently prior to even making the attempt, explaining the above. She assured me it wasn't going to be an issue. "OK den."

Sure enough, whiz, bang. She popped that thing out in seconds, hardly flexing a muscle. She didn't even use the rubber prying leverage. Didn't need to.

Amazing difference in talent. It's never any fun though. But not taking care is eventually worse-er.

Your teeth are supposed to last you a lifetime, but the American diet can change that.

Sunday I went to Chestnut Hill hospital crying like a little girl who had her Barbi doll snatched away from her. The reason was because of the mouth pain and the trauma from the dentist having a hard time getting those 2 teeth out, the pulling and wiggling back and forth, took it's toll. The Tylenol 3's did not work and the Motrin did not work. So at the hospital they gave me a shot of something in my gums and put me on Percocet and Motrin together, and that did the trick. Today I am just having a little pain, this is what makes people scared of the dentist. I read that some people keep the pain for 2 weeks. If I was having this pain for 2 weeks the dentist would get punched kicked shot and then hung and buried face down. Now I have 1 tooth to go and guess what they are going to split the gum because the tooth broke in half so to get a grip on it they have to split the gum, Oh Goody

Lewis you have my heart felt sympathy ... .. Having root canal done the dentest gets excited call in another dentist... says look at this.. this tooth has 3 roots.. dumb jerk not really he drilled through the tooth and gum.. Putting on a crown they could not deaden the tooth they were grinding on.. about 8 shots later i said never mind any more shots just get it done.. Had to have the wisdom tooth pulled on that same side a couple years later explained why i was so scared.. dentist said not a problem .. i will put you shot in a different place... i thought he was shooting my ear but he was right.. No joking you have my sympathy
