The Dominion of Satan Over God Thwarted By Christ
People today believe that ritualistic behavior will earn them favor with God and secure their forgiveness of their sins. But the fact remains that since Satan has dominion over this world, and over mankind as we are all made from the dust of the ground of this world. Then all of our efforts to become sinless are futile since everyone is still under the dominion of Satan, and not God, while we retain this sinful body!
Consider that Jesus Christ is the embodiment of God's word therefore if Satan could get Jesus to sin he would then gain dominion over Jesus Christ's body and then gain dominion over the entire word of God! When Satan possessed Judas at the Last Supper Satan was showing God that he still retains dominion over mankind's flesh! This is why the New Covenant (hint: Holy Communion) is God's law put into our heart's and mind and not into our flesh!
When Satan tempted Jesus Christ in the desert Satan was offering Jesus Christ the opportunity to take dominion of this entire sinful world. Since Jesus Christ was sinless he could take possession of this sinful world from Satan because God gave the sinless Adam dominion over the world in the Garden of Eden. But if the sinless Jesus Christ took possession of this world then mankind would still bear the penalty for Adam and Eve's original sin which was eternal separation from God in hell. The sin issue would have gone unresolved.
Thankfully Jesus Christ didn't want Satan's 'used car' full of sin but instead desired to transform mankind into a 'New Creation' that would give mankind a new body in heaven that was under the exclusive dominion of God. A dominion that man could not surrender to anybody else ever again. For Adam and Eve surrendered their dominion over this world, including themselves for they were both made from the dust of the ground, to Satan in the Garden!
The very first temptation in the desert was Satan offering Jesus Christ dominion over the entire physical world.
Jesus Christ was made from the dust of the ground of God's covenant which gave God the Father exclusive dominion over his own son Jesus Christ as a man. Satan's offer of dominion over the entire world would mean that Jesus would be taking dominion over the entire world, including himself, and that would thwart God the Father's exclusive dominion over his son that the covenant and the virgin birth established.
If Jesus Christ gained dominion over himself, instead of God the Father, this would prevent the resurrection since Jesus Christ would gain dominion over himself but that dominion would would end upon his death. This loss of dominion upon death would prevent God the Father from resurrecting his very own son simply because God the Father must retain dominion over his son after his son's death death to resurrect him! (hint: God's Covenant with Israel ensures that God the Father, not Satan, had exclusive dominion over his son when Jesus Christ was born to a virgin and when Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead!)
It must be remembered that when Jesus Christ was circumcised he was given a name that God the Father had chosen thereby establishing God the Father's dominion over his son, just like Adam naming Eve established Adam's dominion over Eve after her creation by God from the rib of Adam.
When a person becomes a believer in Jesus Christ he becomes one with Christ and subsequently that person falls under the same dominion of God the Father that Jesus was under! A believer is truly one with Jesus Christ and with God!
The second temptation was Satan offering Jesus Christ dominion over the angelic world!
The third temptation was Satan offering Jesus Christ dominion over all of mankind's kingdoms.
If Jesus Christ had taken dominion over this world then he would have forfeited his role as a living sacrifice. A sacrifice had to be without any blemish, meaning that it had to free of sin and be under the exclusive dominion of God the Father. If Jesus Christ had taken possession of this sinful world by Satan's temptations in the desert, then Jesus Christ would inherit all of its sin by gaining dominion over it, and not as a living sacrifice on the cross that incurred death. Therefore Jesus would have become a blemished lamb.
When Jesus was made sin on the cross it was with a pure and unblemished heart that ensured that any dominion over Jesus Christ's lifeless body would be retained exclusively by God the Father to effectuate Jesus Christ's resurrection.
This world can never be Jesus Christ's kingdom. If it were then Jesus would have to share dominion of it with Satan. It would be another Adam and Eve type scenario with Satan as the Adam and Jesus Christ as the Eve. Satan's temptations in the desert was an attempt to entice Jesus Christ to take dominion over this sinful world. And since Jesus Christ was born lower than the angels, just like every man and women, Satan would then have taken dominion over Jesus Christ, and dominion over God by default!
When Jesus gave up his spirit to God on the cross Jesus was giving God an unblemished sacrifice since he was giving God total dominion over his battered body on the cross. A body and spirit that neither Satan nor anyone else, except God the Father, had any dominion over!
The whole purpose of the cross is for Jesus Christ to become sin for mankind and die on the cross, which is the penalty for sin, without ever giving up God the Father's dominion over his body to Satan thereby assuring Jesus Christ's resurrection back up to heaven.
Again, People today believe that ritualistic behavior will earn them favor with God and secure the forgiveness of their sins. But the fact remains that since Satan has dominion over this world, and over mankind as we are all made from the dust of the ground of this world, then all of our efforts to become sinless are futile since everyone is still under the dominion of Satan while we retain this sinful body!
The Law can never save us simply because our body is under the dominion of Satan until we die and receive a new body in heaven through a belief in God's son Jesus Christ. When Jesus Christ was resurrected God was bringing back his word to heaven, to be under his dominion forever, as Jesus Christ was the embodiment of God's word (hint: Jesus is both the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life – a quantum entanglement)
Thankfully Jesus Christ didn't succumb to the temptations of Satan in the desert and Jesus Christ can now offer every person the opportunity to restore God's dominion over each individual believer and restore them to an eternal life with a new body under the dominion of God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit!
God Bless
