How do I sacrifice myself as a drink offering for others?

Paul often told people to follow his example as he imitated Jesus. Hence, Paul gave himself as a drink offering as well as the rest of the torah offerings. How? All NKJV was used.

Php 2:17 -Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.

2Ti 4:6 - For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.

1Co 11:1 - Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.

1 Co 4:16, 17 16Therefore I urge you, imitate me. 17For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.

Paul imitated the sacrificial offering system as stated by these Scriptures, and he taught others to do the same in their manner of conduct. How? What did the animals being sacrifice represent? What was a drink offering in the first place?

Why has the general and mass body of believers not known this before? Why is it not taught today?

In the NT Paul clearly describes the drink offering as giving your life for Christ and suffering for his name.

In 1Cor 5 Paul says "Christ our Passover has been slain".

The OT types in sacrifice and offerings were pointing to the suffering of the Messiah - the Lamb of God who is both Lamb and High Priest (for example) in the Day of Atonement prediction seen in Lev 16.

Col 2 says that the OT sacrificial system were "shadows" or types pointing the worshpper forward to the Messiah.

I don't know if you have ever attended a Messianic Jewish Seder service but there the Rabbi goes through each of the symbols in the passover showing us how they represent the various aspects of the work of the Messiah for mankind.

Drink offerings were usually of the form of grape juice poured out before the Lord in the OT.

Bob, it is indeed difficult to properly see the plan of salvation without a better understanding of the types and shadows that pointed to the Holy One of Israel.

Psa 77:13 Thy way, O God, [is] in the sanctuary: who [is so] great a God as [our] God?

No one could enter the sanctuary unless the were an Israelite, whether by natural birth or adoption. Interesting that nothing has changed today. One of my favorite aspects of scripture study is learning the types and symbols of the Passover and the Sanctuary system and how that symbolism is evident in our present day salvation.
