The Duggars

Does anyone watch the show 19 Kids and Counting? What do you guys think of this family and their beliefs and practices? As for me, I love the core of what they're about, but I think they take some things to extremes that I think are a little wierd.

I used to watch their show and enjoyed it, but since I got married we don't have cable or satellite, so I haven't watched it in about a year.

I've never watched the series, though I did see two videos that I belive their son made. Anyway, I know many families like the Duggars, who are obviously not on television, but who homeschool and have a lot of children through natural means and adoption, and I consider them to be people who love the Lord and who desire to please Him, even if it means a radical departure from the culture and being bombarded with extreme criticism. I think the Duggars are simply trying to be a light, obey the Word as they understand it, and live a surrendered life trusting God.

I agree with you completely. The only thing I think is wierd is how all the girls do their hair the same and how Josh and Anna (the oldest kid and his wife) sometimes dress alike. I also don't think it's necessary for girls to wear nothing but dresses all the time. But still, I think the parents are wonderful parents with very well behaved kids. And I love the way they keep their faith the center of their lives. I know a lot of people critisize them, but that happens when you live the way God wants you to. I think the reason they do things so different is because they are trying to live out their faith with no compromises. And that is a very difficult thing to do.
