The Exorcist

The Exorcist is a movie i'd be interested in hearing peoples thoughts about. I'm not a horror movie fan, cause for the most part, the plots are weaker than Bush's reasons for invading Iraq (ooh, that's right, i said it). but anyway, the Exorcist scared the poo out of me...

Great movie. I can't believe what they got away with in the 70s. It would have a XXX rating if it tried to come out today.

Ahh...freedom. It must have been nice back then.

Still, I don't really like some of the lines they made poor little Linda Blair say. Gives me the creeps.

oh i know, but i think it was essential for the character to add to the disbelief of what's happening in front of your eyes...but, how in the name of the green bay packers, did the producers sit down w/ linda blairs parents and say, "alright, y'all, check this out...your sweet little daughter has to say and do these things..." i bet all her parents were hearing was "CHA-CHING!"

did you see the re-release of it? with the extra images and scenes? <shivers> it's WAY scarier than the original.

I almost see that movie as a form of child abuse.

I totally dig the movie, and think she had to say and do those things to portray evil the way that she did, but too bad the producers couldn't have added those things after the fact someway without her.

It's really a fine line between the final artistic product and corrupting that little girl.

I mean, Linda Blair was kinda messed up her whole life after that!

I haven't seen the re-release. I think I'll go rent it from NetFlicks now. (I love Netflicks!)

True story...! she was in the sequel (which, was NOT good). but the 3rd installation was actually pretty good. it was written by the same guy who wrote the first one (unlike the second one) and it was creepy. it dealt a little less with God and Satan and more with a killer who possessed Father Karass' body (the one who fell down the staircase in the first one), placed there by Satan. i'm getting chills just thinking about it... let me stop now.

I am not big into horror either but out of morbid curiosity, I watched it in my early 20's. Most movies don't creep me out but that one did. I had the heebie jeebies for a month after that!

It scared the crap outta me because i was unsaved but looking back it gave the devil way too much glory...Too bad those priest didnt have enough Jesus in them to kick that demons &*# to hell and back, and then kick it some more!!

I loved the Exorcist although I didn't find it scary at all. While I do believe people can be demon possessed, the movie obviously exagerated it.
