I hear much talk about a one world Government. Did you see Hugo Chavez make a sign of the cross? Do you really think he is a good Catholic. Anyway, fun to speculate.

Lets do some brainstorming!

A false prophet can have different definitions. I put some thought into this a while back, trying to figure out what the characteristics of a false prophet might be.

First, someone who claims that they have a message from God, when in truth, God did not send them with a message

Second, identity theft. For example: Mr. X ~ the false prophet~ knows that John Doe is in fact a true prophet of God. Mr. X shows up somewhere and convinces people that he is John Doe.

Third, simply repeating something that they heard a true prophet say, as if it were the Lord that had given the word.

Any other ideas as to what would qualify someone as a false prophet??

Consider this: Many religious leaders of the present day are very enthusiastic about what they call Christian unity. Millions of professing Christians are being swept by sentimental appeals into the ecumenical monster, the World Council of Churches, the one world church. Again and again people are heard to exclaim, Wouldn't it be wondrerful if we just had one great big church? They will have their one great big church, but it will not be so wonderful. It will be a federation of God-defying, Christ-denying, apostate religious leaders.

Great golfjack. :) Now, with what you and gabby said, who or what best fits the description of Falso Prophet?
 
I will not relay the name that I am thinking, but you spell it P - O - P - E.
 
Well since the book of Revelation is a Jewish book...the false prophet will be a false type of Elijah...

The Jews expect Elijah to announce the coming Messiah....the false prophet will announce the coming False Messiah. Christianity (ie Pope) will have nothing to do with it....

Based on the scriptures, I think "Martin Luther King Jr. would make a better one.

Revelation 13 (New International Version)


1And the dragon[a] stood on the shore of the sea.

The Beast out of the Sea

And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.

3One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. 4Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"

The Beast out of the Earth

11Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon.

12He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men.

14Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.

15He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.
16He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
18This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.

They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

The False Prophet, teaches the Rapture theory.
