There is presently another thread about taking scripture out of context. I wrote the following a few months ago and it is along the same lines as that thread, about those that mislead when they teach.......

In Biblical history, those that killed others (not murdered them) were given refuge in designated cities and they had to remain in those cities or others could kill them out of revenge. They had to remain there until they were tried, found innocent or guilty and/or the high priest died.

How does this pertain to us today....and in the millennium?

The Levites were appointed by our Father to be priests. They were responsible to teach His Holy Word to God's children. Today, there are those that teach His Word and....those that teach falsely. Those that teach false doctrine will cause souls to die spiritually. They are spiritual manslayers.

Numbers 35:6 And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.

Forty-two is a number connected with Antichrist. It is the product of six times seven. Six, therefore, being the number of Man, and of man's opposition to God, forty-two becomes significant of the working out of man's opposition to God. ~ Numbers in Scripture, E.W. Bullinger

35:10-13 "Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, 'When ye be come over Jordan into the land of Canaan; Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares. And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation in judgment.

When "ye come over Jordan" meaning....when you cross to the other side. The promised land. This is a shadow of the millennium. The manslayers, the false teachers...but only those that were unaware of their misleading others (not the ones that purposely spiritually murdered), have special areas they will be placed....just for them and that will not be with Christ. They must remain there until they are judged by Christ and His elect. Will they die with the wicked? The judgment will be made.

35:24-25 Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these judgments: And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.

The "high priest" that will die is none other than Satan. He isn't done away with until the end of the millennium. So, if the false teacher is allowed to live he/she must remain in the refuge city throughout the millennium, must again be tested at the end of that time to determine if they will or will not abide in the eternity.

To mislead another soul because of stubborness, pride, wilful ignorance or whatever reason is a very dangerous undertaking. To purposely do so is certain death....death of one's soul. To unknowingly do so is to be a manslayer and He is very detailed about their future. No human knows all the intricacies of His Word but on matters of salvation those that teach MUST never mislead.

We must all be careful of what we accuse others, lest we find ourselves guilty! Be careful, Whirlwind!

That is true Matthew. Do you believe I was accusing others?

I didn't state whom you were accusing. But you mentioned another thread. It would be great if you would simply be direct. Anyway, I didn't take it that you were accusing me directly. Were you? I just wanted to make clear that we must ALL, including myself first and foremost, be careful of what we accuse others. Are you not in any danger whatsoever of being guilty of your accusations. If you can prove specifics, that's great.

:-) No....I wasn't speaking about any person. It was a general statement.

When I first read those Scriptures what came to my mind were those teaching rapture. I see that doctrine as very dangerous and it has the ability to cause "spiritual manslaughter." That, to me, is what those verses are about....those misleading others to the point of it taking away their salvation or causing them to follow the false christ.

None of us know the "truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth." We're trying but we aren't there. If we waited until we were perfect no one would discuss His Word. It is those who purposely mislead or who are led by their own ego to not see truth that are in a dangerous position and are those the Scriptures in the OP apply to.

Thanks for clearing that up, Whirlwind!
