What it means to have God as our guide
This means the Self-existent One is our light.
(The word translated 'LORD' means The Self-existent or Eternal One)
Now, the context here is seeing with or using the light of the sun or moon to see.
In other words, having the (light of the) sun or moon as a guide.
But here, he tells us that the Self-existent or Eternal One is our everlasting light.
This means He is our everlasting guide.
It means we are never stranded.
It means we always know what to do, where to go, when to go and whom to meet, etc.
Jesus, the Eternal One, the one who is Eternal Life Himself (1 John 1:1,2; 5:20) said:
It means we always prosper. Whatsoever we lay our hands to do prospers. We always have all sufficiency in every good thing and we have an abundance unto every good work.
Glory to God! We are the children of the light. We walk in His more excellent light.
Can you see it? We are the more excellent ones.
We are filled with wisdom and light. The Spirit of life dwells in us. We are never confused or mistaken; we are accurate. We walk with accuracy and precision.
We walk with clarity, hallelujah! We always know what to do.
It means we have eternal life. We are immortal. We are like God on the face of the earth. We have the very nature of God and we function with it.
We are the God-people.
