The Great Baseball Franchise

I think all serious baseball fans would agree the St. Louis Cardinals are the great baseball franchise. Who else could put together an all-time all-star team like this:

C Tim McCarver
1B Albert Pujols
2B Rogers Hornsby
3B Ken Boyer
SS Ozzie Smith
LF Joe Medwick
CF Stan Musial
RF Lou Brock
P Dizzy Dean
P Bob Gibson
P Ernie Broglio
P Larry Jackson
RP Barney Schultz

I hope you don't mind that I substituted Joe Medwick for Curt Flood in my original post.

I was a fan of Ted Simmons... I might suggest him for catcher.

It's been a long time since I had "baseball" knowledge, but Joe Medwick should've been a triple crowner. Curt Flood was great, but I'd pick Joe over him.

I routed for a great Milwaulkee Brewer team back in the 80's and I'm a lifelong Cub fan, so I must say I hate this post and I hate you as a baseball fan! I don't even like Budweiser beer because it's from St. Louis!

But yea... Hats off to the Cardinal crew you put together. And hats off to the Cardinals... They are a class orginization that has a great history.

Yeah, just like I hate Dallas Cowboy fans (because the Cowboys would always beat the Cardinals during the Cardinal's glory days of the 70s). But I was raised in Cub country (northeast Iowa), so I pull for the Cubs a little.
