Right so I have to read this book for my English 11 class, but one thing that I haven't gotten yet is why is the title of the book, "The Great Gatsby"? What makes Gatsby so great? Can anyone help me out with this? lol. :-D
 
I had to read it earlier this year for English II... :crying: I didn't like it very much. Gatsby is supposed to have everything anyone could ask for: The American Dream. The book is O.K, but it didn't appeal to me that much.

Thats weird, it was one of the few books I actually enjoyed in High school. The only other ones I could stand were All quiet on the Western Front , One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and A brave New World.
If you look at it the movie fight club is just a modern version of The Great Gatsby. A nerd follows around the person he wants to be. :-D
 
I loved the book, and our test was an esay question entitled "Why is Gatsby Great?"
