I will be offering Bible questions and what I feel are Biblical answers to these questions. Let us study these that we allow ourselves to grow in the Lord. All responses are welcome

Question:

If a Christian commits suicide, will s/he still go to heaven?

My answer:

Some in the Roman Catholic Church teach that if a person commits suicide, extreme unction is not administered; hense, his sins are not pardoned (he has commited the unpardonable sin). Some Protestants have been influenced by this Roman Catholic view. However, though Samson took his own life by bringing the temple of Dagon down upon himself, thus committing suicide, he is still listed in the Christian "Hall of Fame."

Hebrews 11:32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

Saul is also mentiuoned as one who committed suicide (1 Sam. 31:1-13). Christians debate whether Saul was saved or unsaved. If King Saul was saved, then he is another who committed suicide and apparently went to heaven. So yes, a saved person who commits suicide will go to heaven.
