The hidden Treasure

And the question arises then Oscar, do we choose what we WANT to learn or is there another criteria. Your thoughts?

We learn what the HOLY SPIRIT wants us to learn

Thanks, Ed. :D And yes, Out of the mouths of children...

I have been enjoying all the posts in this thread. And, Oscar, I think your comment about just coming to the thread to see what you learn (by means of the Holy Spirit) is a sure sign of a teachable heart...I prayed to be more like you, in that, when I read it. And, Jack and D46, thanks for elaborating more on Israel. The Lord bless all of you.

Mat 13:44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Hbr 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Wow. Everytime I look at this, God seems to tie it to other Scriptures.
