And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. Gen.14:18

After Abram defeats the kings that took his family, the priest of God who is also the king of Peace brings bread and wine to him. This is many years before Jesus said,

this is my body.....This is my blood
Mt.26:26,28 NIV

Then Abram gives Gods' high priest 1/10 of all his goods and this is long before the law,

Every tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the Lord's; it is holy to the Lord. Lev.27:30

and even longer than when Malachi said,

Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you. Bring the full tithe into the storehouse Mal.3:8 ESV

So Abram was made aware of the law and Gods' way of overcoming condemnation.
Melchizedek is a lot like Jesus in certain ways like those above but Hebrews 5:8 says this about our King and High Priest Jesus,

Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec, of whom we have many things to say and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. Heb.5:10-11 KJV

That's a strange thing to say, because it seems very apparent how Jesus is our High Priest.

The Messiah is an eternal High Priest in this way,

The Lord has made an oath, and will not take it back. You are a priest for ever, after the order of Melchizedek. Ps.110:4 BBE

This means The Son of God is King and High Priest from beginning to end.

From eternity, from before the Earth existed, He was a Hight Priest.

That's what it says. That's odd, because who needs a high priest to forgive sin except humans?

Melchizedek's priesthood is not based on genealogy, (Father and mother), such as is Levi but by Gods appointment. The appointment term as specified by God is forever.
Likewise, Jesus's priesthood is also by Gods appointment not as a Son of Levi and the appointment term is forever. Some, not meaning you, see Melchizedek as Jesus but if that was the case why the need for a second appointment?

The Levitical Priesthood is a central institution in the religious life of ancient Israel, established by God through Moses and detailed extensively in the Pentateuch. This priesthood is named after Levi, one of the twelve sons of Jacob, whose descendants were set apart for religious duties.

Who knows the mind and thoughts of Don except his own spirit.

So what?

As for the body of Christ.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen

you right but that's the royal priesthood and not a ministerial priesthood according to the order of melchisedec under the authority of Christ and who offer the sacrifice of Christ!
1 cor 11:24-25 "do this in memory of me"!
