Daniel 12;7
And I heard the man clother in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half;and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

It is written all these things Daniel had written would be finished after the holy people were persecuted for 3 1/2 years.

Who is the holy people in the verse above?
What makes a person holy?

His very elect, His man child, the witnesses are the holy people.

God makes them holy. He chooses them. They are the chosen few of...

"Many be called, but few chosen." Matthew 20:16

"Many be called, but few chosen." Matthew 20:16

That would mean the holy people in that verse are saints same as the saints being persecuted for the 3 1/2 years in the verse below.

Danie 7;25-27
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws;and they shall be given into his hand untill a time and times and the deviding of time. But the judgement shall sit,and they shall take away his dominion,to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

According to these verses the beast spoken of here would be destroyed and his kingdom and dominion would be given to the people of the saints of the most High.
Is there anyone on this board who believe the 3 1/2 years spoken of in the above verses ,been forfilled?Do you believe the people of the saints have inherited the promised land?

Israel, which in this case includes the Christian offshoot.
A Jewish identity is intended by 'holy people'.

Israel !.
And that would be the overcomers, aka saints.

What does the little horn that persecutes the saints call itself?
The Daniel 7 little horn is Vespasian, deified upon his death in 79.
The Daniel 8 little horn is Rome circa the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar.

Right, we all know that it cannot be physical Israel anymore, for they are not holy anymore. They rejected the Messiah. So , yes the verse is talking about a holy people:1Pe 1:15 but like as he who called you is holy, be ye yourselves also holy in all manner of living;

Little horn:

From among the secular kingdoms in Constantine’s day arose the
religious rulers. They were different from the former, for they were a
corporate body of religious leaders of all kingdoms among corporate bodies
of secular leaders of all kingdoms. Daniel saw this repeated in the end times
as the little horn came up among the ten horns in the second 3-1/2 years.
(Dan.7:7) After this I saw in the night-visions, and, behold, a
fourth beast…and it had ten horns. (8) I considered the horns,
and, behold, there came up among them another horn, a little
one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by
the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a
man, and a mouth speaking great things…. (24)…and he shall
be diverse from the former.

The little horn “came up among†the ten and was “diverse from
the formerâ€Â
because he is a corporate leader with a world religious body
among ten corporate leaders with ten secular bodies. That the little horn
is the false prophet is easy to see because it had “eyesâ€Â, which makes it a
prophet.
(Isa.29:10) For the Lord hath poured out upon you the
spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes, the prophets.

Jews that reject Christ are not holy though.
This is only speaking of holy people ,not the unholy.
For 3 1/2 years the holy people will be persecuted starting with the abomination of desolation ,unto the end.The people who are holy ,became holy through Jesus Christ.

Dan 11;32-33
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries;but the people that do know thier God shall be strong, and do exploits.
And they that understand amoung the people shall instruct many, yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame,by captivity, and by spoil, many days.

The unholy people above are friends with the false prophet who places the abomination of desolation. The holy people (saints)will be murderd for thier testimony.

Rev 20;4
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgement was given unto them;and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God,and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had recieved his mark upon thier foreheads,or in thier hands;and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

The 3-1/2 years here mentioned, are the time of Jacobs trouble. This is a time when anti-christ persecutes the Holy People.

Israel is Gods Holy Land, and the people of it are considered by God as Holy People. God has not cast aside Israel, nor has the Church replaced it. The Jews are still Gods chosen people, and will remain forever. Gods chosen people?, God is Holy, = and his chosen people are the Holy People of God. :)

There is only one way to be holy samuel and thats through the blood of Jesus Christ .
The Pharisees and sadusees are not holy people and are not God's chosen people.
You are mistaken.

Yes and Yes

If that is so then why is the little horn in the promised land today?
Why are the saints in the promised land hated by the people of the little horn this day March 31,2009?

Nope!!, you cannot take one verse out of context, and make it mean something it does not. The book of Daniel was written to the Hebrews, and nowhere does it speak to anyone else.

Daniel is a prophetic book concerning the Jews from the time of Nebuchadnezzar, until the return of their messiah, who is our Christ.

Isa:46:10: Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Now considering the verse above, if God chooses to call the Jews his Holy People, who am I to argue with God.

Well ,since you are claiming the abomination of desolation and the ressurrection which are written in the book of Daniel took place during the time of Nebuchadnezzar. Why dont you tell us who raised them from the graves?

Do you not know what the word holy means?
If not I advise you to read the gospel of Jesus Christ and believe in him.

Shilohsfoal, you're interpreting with the wrong definition of the word 'Holy'. In the context of the verse of Daniel 12:7 'Holy' means 'Set Apart' and refers to God's People (The Jews) 'set apart' from the world. It's the only definition Daniel would understand, and therefore the only correct definition in this case.

Christians were given the Roman Empire via Constantine roughly 230 years after Vespasian's death.

Do you also believe those who perished in the wilderness are God's chosen people?Did not God say I will make new covernant with the children of Israel not like the one thier fathers broke?

Set apart means-
Peter 2:9-10 - 9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Yes, and the New Covenant is Christianity. However, given your definition, the question arises as to why would God scatter the power of the 'holy people' as in Daniel 12:7?

Christians are the 'wise' of Daniel 12:10.
If 'holy' can only refer to Christians, how do you explain the 'holy mountain' of Daniel 11:45?

1Jn 5:4 For whatsoever is begotten of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that hath overcome the world, even our faith.

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh shall thus be arrayed in white garments; and I will in no wise blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and he that keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give authority over the nations:

Rev 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh, to him will I give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, which no one knoweth but he that receiveth it.

Rev 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh, to him will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.
