The iMac turns 10

Gotta love the media:

PC World said:
Since this was still back in the days when PC users hadn't yet capitulated to the concept that Steve Jobs was a god, we picked the iMac apart.

Aside from the fact that Mac is just one of the many inventive companies that makes money by separating people from their money in the name of comfort and convenience, the fact that a company leader is considered "a god" by the media goes to show exactly how worldly many people are. Gadget worship has to be one of the most insidious ways of separating people from God's will, not by leading them to direct evil, but by leading them into business and leisure, and away from actively seeking to do God's will here in this world.

I love the way that computers have revolutionized and streamlined so many things that used to be repetitive and mind-numbing tasks, but at the same time, the personal computer has brought the ability to commit an entirely new set of sins along with it. Like everything in this world, you can use it either for God's will or against it. Having read plenty about Steve Jobs myself, I think I know exactly which side he's on.

I hear ya. I am really beginning to enjoy the concept of open source operating systems like Linux. It's no wonder either, one of my favorite animals is the penguin. :-D
