Sometimes when life becomes a challenge, there is the temptation to “push†the instant gratification “button†(immoral lust, excessive alcohol, drugs). Has anyone ever chosen instant gratification and not regretted it later?

We should learn from Esau who surrendered his inheritance for the immediate gratification of a bowl of stew.

"16 See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. 17 Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done." (Hebrews 12:16-17 NIV)

Be careful that the fulfillment of earthly desires and temptations don't rob you of your inheritance and leave you in deep regret on the Day of Wrath.
