You know, I see a lot of talk here and elsewhere about what Christians should and shouldn't do. Smoking, tanning, whatever.
I think it's high time we started thinking and talking about the things that are more important.

Learning to be honest, with ourselves, our neighbors and God.
Getting control of our tongues, the words we speak and how we speak them.
Gossiping and looking to judge others before we have cleaned the crap out of our own selves.
Being kind to friends as well as strangers.
(when was the last time you gave some poor soul walking in the rain a ride?)
Sacrificing ourselves, whether it be doing things we don't really care for to make a friend happy or putting aside something we want in favor of doing good for someone else.

There is an old expression: Clean up your own back yard and leave my yard to me.

I think there is way too much focus on what lies outside of us and not nearly enough focus on what lies within. I really do feel that many accept Christ just because they think forgiveness gives them a free pass and they don't have to strive to be perfect.

Funny thing Walter I was reading Mark 7 vs 14 - 23 Last night and Jesus said its nothing outside the body that is going to defile him but what is on the inside. because from "whithin, out of the heart of man, comes evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coverting, wickedness, deciet, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.. All these things come from within, and they defile a person. So you are so right in saying we must look at ourselves first and clean up what is within.
God Bless
