Not laying again the foundation, let us go on to perfection.
Christ in us, is not the foundation. It is not our forgiveness as in the sure mercies of David and our justification as righteousness being credited to Abraham.
Let us not leave the milk until God weans us. God does wean us. We remember our mother's breast when we go with our father to experience the strong meat of discipline.
The principle of "Christ in us" is true. But apart from the solid foundation of being "found in Him", the claim that "Christ is in me" would be a snare to the mind. Not the "pit" of works, but the "snare."
Abide IN ME, and I will abide IN you ( plural ).
Abiding in the imputed/accounted justification and forgiveness is abiding in the Head. Thus, in this way He is abiding in his Body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. Each part of the Body receives its piece/measure of faith and grace.
