I appreciate your desire to honor God by remaining morally-pure before Him. But why you would post your promise to God not to masturbate on a public forum is a mystery to me. Why do we need to know what you've promised to God? Isn't your promise between Him and you? Yes, it is. Anyway, the horse is out of the barn now, but maybe, in future, you might keep these sorts of promises just between you and Him where, I think, they belong.
Of course, unless you're walking in the Spirit well every day, you're soon going to break this promise - especially if you're a normally-functioning young man with access to the internet. Culturally, the deck is stacked against any young person who wants to remain sexually-pure today. I just have to drive down the street and, depending upon my route, may be confronted by two or three billboards on which are displayed nearly-naked women. Contemporary pop music is rife with hyper-sexuality and demonism. And the internet is a steaming cesspool of pornographic filth.
When I was a kid, you had to actually travel to a porn shop and go in, observed by those around you. And a ten-foot poster in the window of a shop in the mall showing a woman in scant skivvies, arching seductively, was simply not allowed. There was a...cushion in society between overtly sexual stuff and a young person that has totally dissolved today, which is all the more reason for the Church to be teaching and exemplifying a Spirit-controlled-and-filled life, which is the only way to enduring, practical liberty from the bonds of the World, the Flesh and the devil.
Do you know how to "walk in/by the Spirit"?
Galatians 5:16 (NASB)
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
Galatians 5:24-25 (NASB)
24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
Are there any believers around you who are doing so daily and can show you how to do so also? If not, I would urge you to study
Romans 6 and
8 and live in the truth offered in these chapters. They explain the fundamental "keys" to freedom from any and all sin.
