(Post removed, ToS 2;1: "This is a Christian site, therefore, any attempt to put down Christianity (or declare that it is false) and the basic tenets of our Faith will be considered a hostile act. Please read: Statement of Faith" CF.Net Statement of Faith: "We believe that all humanity is lost and born with a sinful nature, and can only be saved by a personal faith in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, and not by any human merit or performance." This means that we are not saved by becoming "better" people. Obadiah.)

When i came to Christ all of heaven broke loose and there was rejoicing in the presence of the angels.. Luke 15:10

Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Saved is not the issue, being reborn of the Spirit growing in the image of Christ is so that you are worthy and not blotted out of the book of life is.
Rev 3:5-6
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
KJV

Boy, I sure hope not, because God said in His word that He did not want sacrifices.

Hosea 6:6 and Matthew 9:13

Boy, I sure hope not, because God said in His word that He did not want sacrifices.
Rom 12:1-2
12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

KJV

I hope you don't mind if I stay far away from that warped idea you seem to have of God, wherein His desire is to beat and burn you. I'll stay with the one who said He will pour out blessings on me.

The more we burn the better we get? now where have i heard that before.. Oops' :rollingpin

Wow. Being saved IS the issue. Which means being "reborn of the Spirit". Why would one think those are separate issues?

And "growing in Christ" is an issue of spiritual growth to maturity.

And being "not blotted out" is a fighure of speech called 'litotes'. Which means:
litotes noun
A figure of speech consisting of an understatement in which an affirmative is expressed by negating its opposite, as in This is no small problem.

Or, "I will not blot out his name out of the book of life". :)

Rev 3:5-6
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Those who overcome are rewarded, not given salvation. Those who overcome are already saved.

It is not my idea, did you not see that the Spirit is the one who led Jesus to be tempted of the devil?
Absolutely we to receive blessings from our loving God who hates sin and can not tolerate it for He is Holy. Jesus forgave us our sins PAST, and as we grow we must keep in repentance until he returns for his holy body whom are daily being conformed to his image, not lying, not cheating, not stealing, not lusting, not living a life of sin because he has taken them away so that we don't do then any more. This world is in a sad way, if mankind is not any better than the child of the devil in their dealings, what will happen in the new heaven and earth? Did you see what Paul did when he was told of one in sin in the church? He handed them over to Satan to the saving of his sole.
1 Cor 5:3-13
3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
KJV

Please recheck yourself and be sure you haven't fallen into this group:
2 Tim 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

KJV

How many years have we been doing this? And it never changes.

Maybe if you had titled the thread with different words, the more we burn implies being punished, it detracts from those words Jesus spoke from the cross "It Is Finished"

When Jesus said: It is Finished, he meant that he had fulfilled his mission and was our blameless Lamb sacrifice so that we did not have try and fulfill it eacht within ourselves without the Holy Spirit to guide us.
He foiled the plans of the devil, by reuniting us once again to the Father and by his holy blood purchased us in our sinful state, but with the cleansing and washing of the Word by the Spirit we are hopefully growing spiritually to be found worthy.
Also our spiritual growth determines the rewards that we shall receive. Why, even Paul said that he had to do the very things that he taught we had to do, He said that he did not want to preach to us, and be castaway himself. Remember we are warned, for many will say Lord, Lord, but Jesus will not recognize them.

1 Cor 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
KJV
