Interesting thoughts...
Well, so I've been stuck on something lately. As we all know, the name of Jesus has almost become a common, household name in America. Alot of people use His name as jokes, and He becomes nothing more than a celebrity, a cartoon, and a "homeboy".
Do you realize that when Jesus walked the Earth, He did nothing that would cause people to make fun of Him, or think He was dull. everything He did was amazing, and if He was still walking the earth today in bodily form, no one would make Him out to be a joke, because of all the cool stuff He did.
There are a couple of things that Christians need to realize. It was the church, not Jesus, that ruined His name. After centuries of corruptness, lies, and mis-representation, the world has gotten sour on the name of Jesus. Since it was the church that messed it up, it's now up to us to heal His name! Lets represent Him better.
Also, what we also need to realize as Christians is that we do not worship Him because of the things He did, we worship Him because of who He is. He is worthy, and that's why He deserves to be worshipped. This is because Jesus told His disciples that all the signs and wonders Jesus performed, He also said we could do all those things, and more. So,if this is true, what distinguishes us from God. Well, the answer is the fact that He is simply God, and we are not.
Let's worship Him because of who He is, not for what He did, or for what He could do.
