When Adam sinned he did not fall alone; the whole human race fell with him. He effected the ruin of all his seed ( descendants). This is what David meant when he said, Behold, I was brought forth in iniquiity, and in sin my mother conceived me ( Ps. 51:5). David was not saying that conception in marriage is sinful; he was emphasing the fact that he was born of the ruined descendants of Adam, ruined by Adam's original sin. There are two ways demonstrates the nature of his ruin:
1. Spiritual depravity, which is spiritual wickedness. They suppress the truth in unrighteousness ( Rom. 1:18) by preaching another gospel ( Gal. 1:6-10). Or they deny God's existence. Professsing to be wise, they become fools ( Rom. 1:22). They are humanistic, they proclaim the supremecy of man and deny God in their religious philosphy; they make gods of themselves ( Rom. 1:18-23).
2. Moral depravity. God is against all ungodliness, whether it be spiritual or moral, of which sexual promiscuity and homosdexuality are most prominent as in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodlness and unrighteousness of men ( v.18). Therefore God also gave them up to uncleaness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies amomg themselves ( Rom. 1:24-32).
