Numbers 6 is interesting, apart from confirming Jesus was not a Nazarene as he was just Jesus of Nazarith, it says about shaving heads on the 7th day, that would be the Sabbath right?, so they were allowed to do works on the Sabbath.

I thought Sabbath was no work.

Ceremonial service to God did not cease for the Sabbath day:

"9‘Then on the sabbath day two male lambs one year old without defect, and two-tenths of anephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering, and its drink offering: 10This is the burnt offering of every sabbath in addition to the continual burnt offering and its drink offering." (Numbers 28:9-10 NASB)

The work that was to cease on the Sabbath was the work that one did to live (planting, harvesting, cooking, etc.). It's a picture of how we, the people of God, dwelling in this present Sabbath Day of Christ cease from the labor of striving to keep ourselves alive spiritually and instead trust God to provide and take care of us. And we can do that because God provided Jesus the manna from heaven in abundance beforehand to see us through this 'Day' of Christ's Rest we are presently in. By faith we believe he is enough to see us through to the end of this present life, and so we are ensured that we can relax in him and cease from our efforts to save ourselves by our works.

Mat 2:23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.

There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings. :shrug :)

Spoken of by the prophets. Not a prophet. The prophets spoke of how he would be looked down on, thats why he was called a Nazarene.

'can anything good come from nazerith'

Jesus also drink wine and did other things Nazarenes were not permitted to do.

Well, that being the case and not wanting to be mean, I'll tell you what I mean by the two meanings.
Meaning number one: A Nazarene is a fellow who takes a vow not to drink wine or even grapes or their seeds for all of his life.
Meaning number two: A Nazarene is a fellow who comes from Nazareth.

So he was a Nazarene but not a Nazarite, but not a Nazarene.

Thats what i thought anyhow. He was from Nazareth, so hes Jesus of Nazareth, but not a Nazarite., if that's what there even called.
